Course closed on Wednesday 28 June

Our thoughts are with those that have lost or had damaged property and are still waiting to hear from family and friends. We have been fortunate at the club that the damage to the course is limited to the practice greens and the 18th hole which remained under water on Friday. The Pro Shop had some flooding but rest of clubhouse is fine. Other damage on the course is a few trees and branches down. Some of us are heading down shortly to pick up rubbish around the course. If you come down please do not walk through the water being drained from AWATOTO as there may be deep holes which cannot be seen. Unsure if we have power at this stage and until there is members won’t have access to golf clubs. most of the work going forward will require fuel and chainsaws. Awatoto sadly is another story and we’ll need to wait until it is drained to assess what is needed there. Stay safe everyone.
