A great afternoon at Rodney Green Arenas yesterday!
We were delighted to welcome the Napier City Councillors to the Arena for a site visit, a look around the facility, and, most importantly, the chance to get out on court, experience Arena Pickleball for themselves, and understand what the hype is all about!
There was plenty of laughter, a little healthy competition and some surprisingly good pickleball on display!
Visits like this are a great chance for us to share what is happening across the Arena, talk about how the facility is being used, and let our local leaders see firsthand how it brings people together through sport, recreation, and events.
A big thank you to Mayor Richard McGrath, Graeme Taylor, Roger Brownlie, Keith Price, Craig Morley, Ronda Chrystal, Whare Isaac-Sharland, Shyann Raihania, Greg Mawson and the wider Napier City Council team who joined us.
Thanks for being such great sports; we loved having you!
Your community. Endless possibilities.

WELCOME TO THE BOARD, TRUDY KILKOLLY 👏
We’re delighted to welcome Trudy Kilkolly to the Regional Indoor Sports & Events Centre Trust (RISEC) Board.
Trudy brings a fantastic mix of financial expertise, local government experience and a lifelong passion for sport. A Chartered Accountant, she has held senior finance roles with both Napier City Council and Hawke’s Bay Regional Council.
She’s also no stranger to high-performance sport, Trudy represented New Zealand in hockey at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games and has represented our region across hockey, cricket and golf.
Many of you will already know Trudy from Arena Pickleball, where she’s been an Ambassador and Session Lead, helping grow the sport and create opportunities for more people in our community to get involved.
We’re incredibly pleased to have Trudy bring her experience, community connection, and love of sport to the Board as we continue shaping the future of Rodney Green Arenas.
Welcome to the team, Trudy! 🧡
