We’re delighted to welcome Zilco back for another season supporting one of Dressage NZ’s most popular series.

Musical Freestyle brings together technical skill, creativity and a little bit of showmanship, and we’re looking forward to seeing combinations around the country dancing their way towards the North and South Island Finals.

✨ Dressage Otago Practice Days 2026 ✨

Saturday 12th September: Entries now OPEN. Please complete the google form below to enter. Entries CLOSE Sunday 6th September.

Sunday 20th September: Entries will open closer to the time. Please keep an eye on this page for when they open and the google form is posted.

Our practice days are an opportunity for you to book a 20-minute arena slot. This time slot may be used for training with your own instructor, practicing a test, schooling in the arena, arena familiarisation, or receiving feedback on your tests with assistance from our Dressage Otago ‘helpers’, who will be available on the day.

Please ensure you read all the details on the google form before entering.

South Island Dressage Championships committee would like competitor feedback…

The SIDC committee are planning the 2027 event - we always say its run by SI Riders for the Riders, and now we are asking for your FEEDBACK!

So, here is your chance.... a few rules though...
* if you don't live in the SI - don't answer
* if you don't plan to ride at the SIDC, and don't even ride Dressage - don't answer
* if you comment and make it a witch hunt - it will go straight to bin...

We might not take on all suggestions this year, but we will put all suggestions forward for our next planning meeting where we will be finalising the schedule.

Wanting to try some test riding before the season starts? (Remember we have our own Winter competition on the 16th August too) and like idea of entering an online competition … Dressage Nelson have a great series on offer.

Entries close 15 August 2026 - To enter just send us a message and pay the entry fee. Filming for #1 competition is 16 August - 16 September 2026, other dates are in the poster below.

We will have OVERALL series Champion and Reserve Champion physical Rosettes or Sashes for each level. Each individual competition will have our usual beautiful virtual rosettes for placings 1st-6th for each level.
