The Silvester Cup recognises someone who has gone above and beyond for Kereone Junior Rugby throughout the season. Someone who gives their time, puts the kids first, steps up when needed and truly lives the values of our club.

This year’s recipient is someone who has given so much to Kereone and our kids
Tania Clark, our very own “Good Time Tanz”! 💚🤍

Tanz is always there to help, support, organise, encourage and make things happen. She gives her time without hesitation and has become such a valued part of our club family.

Her commitment, energy and genuine care for our kids is something we are incredibly grateful for.

🏆Peter Bos – Team of the Year Award 🏆

The Peter Bos Team of the Year Award is awarded to the team that has truly embodied the values of Kereone Rugby & Sports Club throughout the season.

This year, the award goes to our Kereone 13th Grade Team!

They have shown fantastic teamwork, commitment, sportsmanship and resilience throughout the season, while supporting one another and representing Kereone with pride both on and off the field.

🏆 President’s Cup 🏆– Outstanding Achievement

The Presidents Cup is one of Kereone Junior Rugby’s most respected awards. It recognises a player who demonstrates exceptional skill, character, leadership, resilience, mana and loyalty both on and off the field, while truly representing the values of Kereone.

This year’s recipient, Mia Clark, has been part of the Kereone family since she was six. From the beginning, she has never been afraid of a challenge, skipping Rippa and stepping straight into an older tackle team alongside her siblings.

Over the years, Mia has grown into an outstanding leader, particularly within our girls’ rugby programme. She leads by example, supports those around her and has earned huge respect from her peers.

Her contribution goes well beyond rugby. Mia is an incredible all-round sportswoman, representing her school across numerous sports while also taking on leadership roles and achieving academically.

Most importantly, Mia consistently demonstrates the values of Kereone through her commitment, work ethic, attitude and willingness to give back. She, along with her whānau, truly represents what our club stands for.

Congratulations Mia! you are an incredibly deserving recipient of the President’s Cup. We are so proud of everything you have achieved and the person you have become. 🏆💚🤍

🏆 Jack Pickett Cup 🏆Junior Sports Person of the Year

Awarded to a junior player who embodies the true spirit of community sport. It recognises not just talent or performance, but sportsmanship, commitment, respect, teamwork and a positive attitude throughout the season.

This year’s recipient, Kayden Stapleton, has consistently demonstrated all of these qualities.

Kayden’s sportsmanship is outstanding, and his genuine care for his teammates and opposition has earned him the respect of players, coaches and supporters alike. He is an unselfish player who always gives 100%, encourages those around him and leads by example.

At training, Kayden is everything a coach could ask for, focused, supportive and always with a ready smile.

He represents the values of Kereone both on and off the field and is a player our club can be incredibly proud of.

🏆 Ian and Don Clarke Memorial Cup 🏆 Coach of the Year
Paul Pickett

This award recognises a coach who has shown outstanding leadership, dedication and commitment throughout the season, inspiring their players and making a positive impact both on and off the field.

Paul has truly shown all of this throughout the 2026 season. He has put a huge amount of time into our transitioning group, helping our players make the move from Ripper Rugby into tackle rugby and ensuring they feel supported and confident.

He has also given his time to help with our girls rugby programme and coach the U9s, even though he doesn’t have any girls of his own playing.

Paul always puts the kids first, gives his time wherever it is needed, and really demonstrates the values of Kereone through his commitment, support and willingness to help others.

Last Friday we celebrated all the Tackle Teams and their season at our 2026 Prizegiving! 🏆

What a fantastic season it has been! We are so proud of every player who has taken the field, worked hard, supported their teammates and represented Kereone throughout the year.

A huge congratulations to all our players, coaches, managers, volunteers and whānau. Your commitment and support is what makes our club so special. 💚🤍

And a big congratulations to all our Cup recipients! 🏆👏 It was awesome to celebrate and recognise the players who have made a special contribution throughout the season.

Well done everyone on a fantastic 2026 season! we cant wait to see what 2027 brings!
