2 Weeks Postpartum, here's what my recovery is looking like 📖

Nothing crazy, taking it slow but finding that connection with my body again 🤌

What did your first few weeks postpartum look like?

21/07/2026

I'm days out from being 1 year post op on my hip!

And today, I'm over 40 weeks pregnant, doing a free YouTube pregnancy yoga sesh.

To anyone scrolling, it probably doesn't look like much. But to me reflecting over the last year this means a lot.

There was a time when deep squats, butterfly stretches, and some of these simple positions caused pain, catching, or just weren't possible. Even after surgery, getting back into these movements took months of patience, rehab, strength work, and trusting the process.

Looking back now, the timing feels pretty perfect.

If I'd been pregnant before having my hip repaired, I don't really know how my body would have coped. The surgery gave me the chance to rebuild, get stronger, and move with confidence again before asking my body to do one of the biggest jobs it'll ever do 🤰🏼

My hips are still a work in progress, and they'll probably always need a bit of extra love. But that's okay. This body has carried me through surgery, rehabilitation, and now a full-term pregnancy.

Sometimes the biggest wins don't look impressive from the outside.

Sometimes they're simply being able to move without pain.

Sometimes they're sitting comfortably in a butterfly stretch.

Sometimes they're doing a deep squat while 40+ weeks pregnant and smiling because a year ago, that felt a very long way away.

I'm proud of how far this body has come 🤍

(Ok baby you can arrive now 🩷😆)

A reminder for anyone who needs it:

You don't have to train at 100% for it to "count."

A 20 minute walk counts.
Mobility work counts.
A lighter workout counts.
Taking things slower counts.

Progress isn't built on perfect days. It's built on showing up, again and again, in whatever way you can. 👏💪

Ditch that all or nothing mentality 👋

Keep showing up for you,

Whatever season you're in rn 🫶

You got this 🤝

Some great movements to include in the lead up to birth 👏👇

Right now movement for me is less about pushing hard and more about moving in ways that feel GOOD for my body. Stretching out my back, opening up my hips, slowing down, breathing properly and staying connected through my core as my body changes week by week.

These are some of the movements that have been helping me heaps in the lead up to birth ✨
Not medical advice, just things that feel good and supportive for MY body during pregnancy.

I try get these done every day if not every second day 🤝
• Hip flexor + hamstring stretch
• Cat cows with connection breath
• Bird dogs
• Wide child’s pose
• Spine rotations
• Happy baby
• Glute bridges
• Deep squat bounces

I also demo how to sit up from lying if you’re noticing doming/coning through your tummy or any ab separation, traditional sit ups/crunch-style movements may not feel great anymore.

Rolling to your side first and pushing yourself up can be a much nicer option, especially once you’re further along 👌

Pregnancy has definitely been teaching me to slow down a little more, breathe, listen to my body and adapt instead of forcing things. Different season, different training and that’s okay ☺️
