Fundraiser for Eastbourne Toy Library😊
See attached poster for details of a movie night being hosted by the Claridge Family at Event Queensgate next Wednesday 29th July.
I,Object was filmed in Wellington in 2024.
My favourite thing about this film is how everyday objects with faces come to life! It’s an infectious obsession !!!!
Here’s a bit more about the film ….
From the visionary mind of New Zealand-born director Andrew Niccol comes I, Object, a heartfelt and highly imaginative exploration of grief and connection. Following the loss of his father, ten-year-old Tom (Skywalker Hughes) finds himself increasingly isolated, unable to relate to the people in his life. Retreating into a world of his own, he begins to find refuge in the ordinary, everyday objects that surround him. In a whimsical twist, these mundane items reveal their true identities and start speaking to Tom. His everyday surroundings become a source of unexpected wisdom, offering him a unique way to navigate the heavy process of healing. As the line between reality and fantasy softens, Tom learns that even in the quietest corners of his world, he isn't truly alone. Boasting a cast that includes Anna Faris and Kiwi favourite Karl Urban, I, Object is a beautifully told story about resilience and the magic hidden in the mundane.
Contact Kathy if you’d like to reserve seats on 0273551950.
Term 3 - We are open again as usual from tonight

We held the ETL AGM just before the holidays. We are sharing the Annual Report and Minutes from the meeting shortly on an email to all members. On those documents you can see how the library is performing, where our funding comes from and what it is spent on as well as our membership, toy levels and the priorities for the committee for the year ahead.
Key points to note for members from this meeting were:
*We'd like to establish a Toy Library WhatsApp chat to enhance communication and sense of community. Look out for an invite to this channel.
*We need everyone to spread the word about Toy Library to keep members numbers rising before the end of 2026. Please share social media posts and info about the Toy Library to friends who have kids aged 0-8.
*Party Hires - bouncy castle/party packs available to hire. Updated posters coming soon.
*Fundraising - We need volunteers to help with an August Bake Sale fundraiser - more info to follow about this soon. Kathy is screening I, Object on 29/7 at Event Queensgate as a fundraiser. We are thinking about selling the frozen croissants again in Nov/Dec.
We are a small committee who work hard to keep the toy library running. We hope you enjoy the service and we want to be around for future generations of local families to enjoy.
There are lots of ways you can help and support us, from fixing toys, to helping with fundraisers, donating toys and promoting what we do.
Thank you for being part of our Toy Library community.

Bouncy Castle - Lounge edition!
07/07/2026
Happy Birthday Peaches! We received this lovely review following a recent Bouncy Castle Birthday Party Hire.
“We are so grateful for the bouncy castle hire from Eastbourne Toy Library for my daughter’s 3rd birthday party. What was supposed to be image0.jpega bit of a rainy day ended up being a full blown storm with flooding and red winds! Do we cancel the party? Or can we run the bouncy castle inside and save disappointing our 3 year old? Never fear, Kathy from Toy Library came in to save us, telling us she has had the bouncy castle up indoors over the years at her own kids parties, and even dropped it off at our place when the church was too flooded to access! The castle was a breeze to set up, pack down and was a hit with the kids. Thank you so much Eastbourne Toy Library for saving our bacon and also for providing such a fairly priced Bouncy Castle Hire option. Bring on next year!
Lisa, Peaches, Saije and Felix”.
Check out the details of all the items we have to hire on this page under Photos in the album:
