Our lot have been turned out for a few months now while winter was wintering and life was lifeing but next week we are starting to bring everyone back into work but before that happens, this was too funny not to share… watch till the end, surely I’m not the only one who has done this?😅🥕

Dakota hasn’t ridden for 3 months and today had a lesson with Sarai Māori Equestrian on Moose, such a different ride compared to Capi!🥰

Don’t come at me with being in super nice clothes at the farm, we had just finished at the marae having whānau photos and on the way home we dropped in to check on the herd… gosh everyone looks so damn good and fluffy for winter, so happy but looking forward to August when we start to bring everyone back into work🥰

I know we’ve been MIA a bit, our herd is turned out, shoes off, feet trimmed and just happy being horses right now while life is lifeing for us and hectic busy in so many other aspects of our life… we don’t plan on turning them out for the entirety of winter so we will be back at it soon🥰
I think Mike might be a little stressed out sorting the herd on his own today🤣

Some of you may have seen that I was selected to compete to win $10,000 over the weekend at the KFC Jimi Jackson Gonna Wanna 10K Challenge 🍗
The 10K was going to be a holiday for me and a “training” holiday for Dakota over in Australia. He has been talking lately about wanting to head to Australia for some mentorship, ride some big horses to give him experience in riding in a few big rings🐴
Well māmā unfortunately didn’t come home with the pūtea but damn did I put all my mana into trying. But now Dakota has a slightly different opportunity to apply for funding through Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira🖤❤️🤍
Though I need your help! Who are your fave hōiho mentors in Aotearoa, who do you love to follow online and who do you think would be a great fit with their herd of horses for Dakota to head to for a couple of days over winter to learn from…would love to hear your suggestions before I put together his grant application🫶🏽

Dakota has just gone through his jods and these are all too small now so he’s laid them out and taken some photos for me to post to find them new homes🐴
Great for home use as they’re very verrrrry worn, some even with paint on them and yes, the white competing ones have grass stains that occurred the first time he wore them🙈
I think around size 8/10ish. He is wanting to koha these forward, pick up Island Bay or postage at your own cost🤗
