LTTC - 2026 AGM

Dear Table Tennis members,

Your committee has come up with a date for the AGM. It will be held on Monday, 31st August at the Uniting Church, beginning at our usual morning tea time, ca. 10:00 am. If you have an item for the Agenda, please forward it to me, Sylvie, your secretary, (so I can include it.)

My email is [email protected].

I will also bring forms for the newer members to fill in (voluntarily), giving a contact phone number in case of accidents or illness. These details are kept in a sealed envelope in the club's storeroom.

Cheers,
Sylvie

A very useful guide from the Auckland Table Tennis Association.

πŸ“ The Most Important Match Is The One Inside Your Head.

Every table tennis player has been there.

Your opponent hits the edge of the table.

A net cord drops over.

You miss an easy forehand.

The umpire makes a call you don't agree with.

Your opponent plays the shot of their life.

You can't control any of those things.

But you can control what happens next.

Do you lose focus?

Do you get frustrated?

Or do you take a breath, reset, and get ready for the next point?

That's one of the greatest lessons table tennis teaches.

Control the controllables.

Because matches are rarely decided by one lucky edge ball or one bad bounce.

They're often decided by how well you respond to them.

The table tennis community understands something many people never discover.

Your greatest advantage isn't controlling everything around you.

It's controlling yourself.

πŸ“ Your attitude.
🎯 Your focus.
πŸ’ͺ Your effort.
🧠 Your decisions.
❀️ Your response.

That's where matches are won.

Point by point.

Rally by rally.

Table tennis isn't just teaching us how to play a better game.

It's teaching us how to stay calm when things don't go our way.

And that's a skill worth taking off the table too.

If you're a table tennis player, you know exactly what I'm talking about β€οΈπŸ“

What's the hardest thing for you to let go of during a match β€” an edge ball, a missed easy shot, a bad call, or something else? πŸ‘‡

13/07/2026

πŸ“πŸ“ No regular club play on Monday 20 July. πŸ“πŸ“

The interclub squad will be playing in Kapiti.

The regular Club play booking has been cancelled to minimise the costs (loss) to the Club on that day.

FYI - the reality is we need at least 20 players each Club day just to cover the hall hire; not counting refreshments, and meeting on-going equipment/Club costs etc.

SUBJECT: We Miss You on the Tables!

Dear LTTC Members

It’s been a while since we’ve seen some of you and the hall feels a little too quiet without you! Whether life got busy, you lost your rhythm, or your bat has just been gathering dust, we want to officially invite you back to a Club session.

Restarting a routine can be tough, but getting back into regular club days is a massive win-win; both for you and for the club. Here is why making a comeback is worth it:

Why It’s Great for You:

The Best Kind of Cardio: Table tennis is fantastic for your health. It improves reflexes, hand-eye coordination, and balance, all while giving you a great aerobic workout without the joint strain of other sports.

A Mental Reset: There’s nothing quite like the focus of a fast rally to completely clear your mind.

Socialisation: Our club is built on community. Coming back means catching up with old friends, meeting new members, and having a chat between games over a cuppa.

Why It’s Great for the Club:

More Variety, Better Games: A diverse mix of players means everyone gets to face different playing styles, spins, and paces. Your presence naturally elevates the level of play for everyone.

Keeping the Club Vibrant: A bustling club day creates an energetic atmosphere that attracts new players and keeps our local table tennis community thriving.

Ready to dust off your bat?

Our club days and times are still:

Monday 9am -12noon, Wednesday 9am - 11.30am, Thursday 9am - 12noon.

We hope to see you soon.

Warm regards

The Levin Table Tennis Club Committee
