We have hot/cold drinks and snacks on the go all day and hot food between 11-1.30pm Mon-Fri and 4-6pm on Tuesday, for our later games.

🏑 SUMMER TWILIGHT HOCKEY IS BACK! ☀️

Grab your mates, work crew or family and get a team together for our 2026 Summer Twilight Social Hockey Competition.

This one is all about having a hit, having a laugh and enjoying some social hockey on a Friday evening. You don't need to be an experienced hockey player to get involved - fun is the top priority!

📅 Starts Friday 30 October
⏰ First game from 6pm
🏑 6-week competition
📍 Halliwell Turf
💰 $150 per team

How does it work?

It's 6-a-side, played on half turf with pushing only. Games are two 15-minute halves, so they're short, sharp and perfect for a Friday night.

Teams can be mixed gender and are open to anyone, Year 7 and older. To keep things social, a maximum of two Senior Club players can play in each team.

Umpires are supplied, so all you need to worry about is getting your team together and turning up ready to play!

Just a reminder about our fantastic U13 Hockey Festival that's taking place at the end of next month. It's a brilliant event for our young community and such a privilege for us to host it here in Whanganui.

The Div 4 boys have finally broken the curse and they're off to the FINALS!!! 💛🖤

Congratulations to these fantastic players who will be representing Horowhenua in our U13 hockey boys and girls teams in Whanganui in September.

Training information:

Mondays- starting 10th August
U13 Girls- 5-6pm
U13 Boys- 6-7pm

🏑 Ready for the Next Step? Try 11-a-Side Hockey! 🏑

Are you in Year 7 or 8 and keen to experience what hockey is like before heading to college?

We're putting together a Horowhenua team to take part in the Pickering Family Cup - a four-week 11-a-side competition designed to help players make the transition from 7-a-side half-turf hockey to the full-sized game.

This is a fantastic opportunity to:
🏑 Experience playing on a full-sized turf
🏑 Learn 11-a-side positioning and tactics
🏑 Build confidence before starting college hockey
🏑 Have fun playing with and against other Year 7–8 players

We're especially looking for more girls to get involved, as each team must have at least two girls on the turf at all times.

📅 Training will most likely be on Wednesday evenings.
