Great Write up on the J105 upgrade, and how she won her class in the Chicago Mac race with her Carbon mast and Boom Package from NZ Rigging

The Story of Warlock Why Mess With a Classic? Changing an icon of one-design racing is considered blasphemy. The J/105 has had a strong, loyal following since the first boat launched in 1991, with over 600 boats built and active one-design fleets across the country. It was revolutionary when it was new: the first produc...

The Mighty Boogie Flash with her NZ Rigging Carbon mast and Boom

Class Spotlight: The Mumm 36. 🌟

Mumm 36 was the predecessor to the Farr by a few years. Mumm 30 followed and became the Farr 30 after Mumm sponsorship ended. Mumm 36 was one of the 3 classes in the 1995 and 1997 Admirals cups. It was designed as a tightly controlled one design class that became the model for Farr 30, Farr 40 and Farr 45 that followed.

Over 120 hulls were built by yards across the USA, New Zealand, Australia, UK and South America, and the class became a staple of professional racing through the 1990s — Admiral's Cup, Mumm World Championships and competitive club racing on every ocean.

Three decades later, boats like Boogie Flash are still out on the racecourse every weekend — most recently spotted at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron Winter Series in Auckland. A testament to the timeless quality of the design.

Some boats were built for a season. The Mumm 36 was built for a lifetime. 🌊

The Georgia One was upgraded a while ago now with a carbon mast from NZ Rigging

Class Spotlight: The Farr 43. 🌟

The Farr 43 (Des 360) is part of the Farr one-design family — a 43-foot grand prix racer sized specifically to compete in the Super 12 Class in Australia, but equally at home in competitive club racing fleets around the world.

Designed to excel under IRC, ORCi and PHRF, she’s a true all-rounder, fast enough for serious offshore racing, responsive enough for inshore buoy racing, and rewarding to sail whether you’re a Corinthian crew or a professional team. At a time when many manufacturers had shifted focus to cruising boats, the Farr 43 filled a gap in the market for a genuine high-performance racer-cruiser.

Boats like Georgia One are keeping the class very much alive —also most recently seen on the Waitemata Harbor at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron Winter Series in Auckland.

Built to race. Built to last. 🌊
