Next up... we welcome Darryll MacDougall to the Horselands 2026/2027 Sponsorship team!

Darryll is a Waimauku-based eventing rider, trainer and coach with a holistic approach to developing both horses and riders. With 10+ years’ coaching experience across Pony Club, Area Development Squads and private clients, including Head Coach roles at Massey and Waimauku Pony Club, she is passionate about building confident, capable partnerships and giving both horse and rider the foundations to progress.

Her current main competition partner is Weiti Gravity, aka “Gosh”, an 8-year-old Warmblood x Stationbred whom Darryll has owned and developed since he was two. A quirky, kind and naturally slower maturer, Gosh has enjoyed wins and placings at the lower levels as a youngster. After a season away from the Horse Trial circuit following the birth of Darryll’s second baby, Zella, in April, they’re looking forward to returning this season. Now more mature and stronger, their focus is on rebuilding and then progressing confidently through the levels together.

About Grace:
"Hi,
I’m Grace, I'm in Year 8 at Carmel College, and I live in Waimauku.

I currently have two ponies, Pizza (Too much Pizzaz) and Daisy (Daisy Dream) and spend most of my spare time riding, training and competing with them.

Show jumping is my favourite discipline, so you’ll see me ringside this season at most show jumping shows!

I love setting myself new goals, challenging myself and learning as much as I can from my coaches.

I’m excited and proud to have been selected as a Horselands Sponsored Rider.

I can’t wait to represent the team, share my adventures with my ponies and hopefully encourage other young riders along the way.

I’m really grateful for this opportunity and excited to see what the season ahead brings!"

We are so excited to announce our first Horselands sponsored rider for the 2026/2027 season - Maya Hegh! 🤩

About Maya and her team:
"I’m Maya Hegh, a 20-year-old showjumper who has lived in the Waitematā–Rodney area my whole life. I currently compete in Young Rider classes and up to 1.40m, with a small team of two competition horses, while also managing my broodmare and rising 2-year-old at home.

Corfu is my primary jumper and my partner in the Young Rider and up to 1.40m classes. He is my “Mr Perfect” - incredibly reliable, genuine and always willing to give his absolute best. I know I can trust him to try his heart out every time we step into the ring, and our partnership is something I’m incredibly proud of.

Jolene NZPH is my lovely 8-year-old mare, who I have produced myself from a freshly broken rising 3-year-old. It has been incredibly rewarding to develop her through every stage of her career, from her early development stages through to successfully competing at 1.30m and Young Rider level last season. Producing Jolene has taught me a huge amount about patience, consistency and developing a horse at their own pace.

Alongside my competition horses, I enjoy being involved in every part of my horses’ development, from producing young horses through to competing at the higher levels. I also enjoy helping the new generation of riders develop through coaching at Pony Club and privately.

My horses have always been managed on products supplied by Horselands - I have always found everything we could need on the shelves at Horselands. A few of my favourite products include the Dunstan range, Equine America, Eco horse, Effol, Alltech and Ariat - just to name a few!
