Aligned Movement Pilates & Yoga Studio

Last night, I turned off the lights and locked the door for the last time. I’ve always loved spending quiet evenings alone in the studio, working on my projects and tidying up. Last night, I moved the furniture around once more after a good clean-up, preparing for the next tenants. I really hope they love it as much as I did. 🤞

It was a busy day of packing up everything that wasn't staying. Four carloads later, it's spread out across most of the floor in my home, ready for me to sort through over the coming weeks.

Today, we'll be tidying up accounts and organising equipment orders. If there's anything you’d like for your home, just shoot us an email, we'll be happy to help get you sorted.

It's not goodbye, but see you later… at the supermarket, at the doctors, or maybe even at another one of our local studios or gyms (no, I’m not teaching anywhere). Keep moving, bending, and dancing every day, your life depends on it!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you all once again for your belief and support. You are truly the best community I could ever ask for, and each of you hold a special place in my heart, filled with all the unforgettable memories we've created together.

PLOT TWIST 👀

The studio has officially SOLD.

While Aligned Movement is closing this chapter, the space itself will soon begin something new under new ownership and a new brand.

And honestly… it feels really special knowing a little piece of me will still live on within these walls.

I can't quite announce who’s taking over just yet, but I’m genuinely excited for what’s next for this beautiful space and our community.

So… watch this space.

All the equipment is staying with the studio, however, we do have a limited amount of stock available and can also order some extra pieces in.

If there’s something you still want for home, brand new and good quality, email us or flick us a message, and we can organise a cheeky little carpark swap over the next week or so. 😘

This morning was my final class before our last day on Saturday! 🥹

So many emotions walking into the studio today.

This space has held years of movement, laughter, conversations, friendships, challenges, growth, and community, and I feel so incredibly grateful for every person who has walked through our doors.

To everyone who has been part of this journey… thank you!

You’ve done so well coming back after your surgery, building strength in all the right places and making it look easy along the way.

Such a great milestone, we’re so proud of you! Bravo!

Do you recognise this place? This was it. This is what we signed up for, even before the completion after the fire that shut down the laundry and the Chinese restaurant next door for months. I couldn't wait to get my hands on this space and make it my own. What a privilege it is to be handed a blank canvas to work with, to dream big and bring this space to life. I personally love a bit of industrial style and cherished the stories the cinder blocks held from those before me, right down to the velcro dot on the wall that had been painted over and the door that had swung open many times before.

I am forever grateful to the landlords for believing in me and for giving me my start. I had originally inquired about the space Pipsqueak is in now, but they thought I might want something bigger, even though it wouldn’t be available right away.

Scott and I spent several late nights painting the interior walls that separate the two studios, while the rest of town had gone home, and McDonald's was the only place open to fill our empty stomachs. I hadn’t eaten fast food for 12 years prior to that. I can still smell the rain on the concrete from one night when we opened the door to leave and were met with complete silence. No cars and trucks, no neighbours rummaging through their rubbish bins, just a feeling of immense pride and hope.

Hope that it could work. Hope that people would come. Hope that people would like us and what we were trying to build. And you came. You showed up and elevated the space with your smiles, your hope, and your dreams, allowing us to be the help you needed.

It's easy to look back at all the hard times (cue the pandemic and a 9-month-old baby), or to think about how I could have done things differently, but signing up for this journey has come with no regrets.

My only hope for you is that one day, when you're presented with an opportunity similar to the one I had, whether big or small, you seize it. You deserve it! When you dream it, believe it, and when you believe it, you become it.
