ONYX / DELILAH
Did you ever rider her at Horse Haven ? Here is her story.
I just realised that I have had our beautiful mare Delilah, (also known as Onyx ) since 2009, she was about 3 years old she came into my life. That makes her about 20 years old. She is looking absolutely fantastic for a 20 year old mare. What do you think ?
First this mare was born 200 meters up the road from me. And as a young horse she was abandoned with her mother. Then a friend took her in and gave her a home after the SPCA and council got involved due to her abandonment.
This beautiful horse came into my life after this same friend started to ring me weekly and then daily to take her off her hands. I said no more time than I can remember. Every time she rang I had 100 excuses why I could not take her. In the end I gave in and said yes.
Onyx as she was called then turned out to be lots of trouble, as she had no training what so ever and she was very spirited. 🤣 Well look how beautiful this mare is after all these years have past. She is kind and gentle. She is a well bred horse, and is a QH x Appaloosa. Her mother was a QH and her sire, Flash O Genius won the Appaloosa futurity c**t of the year award, her grand sire was Plaudit Flash Fox imported Appaloosa stallion well known for producing grand prix level show jumpers and beautiful horses for all disciplines.
This first photo is of Delilah this week, showing her beautiful form after all these years, the other photos show her with different riders who had the pleasure of riding her over the years at Horse Haven. Delilah is my riding horse and has been for a long time. And we still enjoy quiet strolls along the beach from time to time. 😆🥰🤠 She has been instrumental in training most of our ponies and has also helped a few different riders gain their confidence over the years at Horse Haven. Delilah is a very special horse to us at Horse Haven, because she is my personal riding horse for many years, she is a Quarter Horse x Appaloosa. Introducing Sir Galahad .....
We have now started his training to be a riding pony.
He is no longer a baby and is 4 years old !
His father is Iceman .... both Iceman and Galahad are Cremello colour. And they both are gentle and kind ponies eager to please.
Sir Galahad is going to make some lucky young person a beautiful companion.

I am very happy to show off our beautiful pony whose name is Dream ... "Dream Come True" We started her training last week at HORSE HAVEN Riding Academy & Sport Horse Stud and she really loves to come in and get plenty of attention. Dream was born at Horse Haven and sired by our pony stallion named Westridge Limited Edition. Dream is a beautiful red coloured pony with a fantastic personality. She loves being with people and is going to make a fantastic companion pony for a young rider some day very soon.
