You may recognise rebecca.grace.fitness from some of our other Katifit shenanigans 😜, but behind the scenes she’s also been working pretty hard — learning, gaining experience and working towards her own goals.

A massive congratulations to Rebecca on completing her Level 4 Exercise qualification through Te Mahi Ako , alongside Katifit.

Becky has shown so much dedication and enthusiasm for the fitness industry, and we’ve loved watching her grow in confidence and knowledge along the way. She’s now ready to put all that learning into action — and she has a few PT spots available - so reach out to her for more info!

And another big congratulations to our Katikati College student Paige, who has completed her Level 3 qualification with us! 👏🌟 Such an awesome achievement alongside all of her other school work!

We still have a couple of students working through their qualifications here at Katifit and we’re really proud to be able to provide a place where people can learn, gain hands-on experience and take their first steps into the fitness industry.

Well done Gals! 💚🖤

RDLs… how hard can they be? 😂🍑

Trainer: “Soft knees, hips BACK, weight close to you in front of body’

Client: proceeds to invent an entirely new exercise.

All jokes aside, the Romanian Deadlift (RDL) is an absolute winner for building strong hamstrings, glutes and your posterior chain — when you do it properly!

They can be a tricky one to master but once you get it, they become a great foundation in your training

Quick RDL checklist:
Push your hips BACK — it’s a hinge, not a squat
Keep the weight close to your legs
Keep your spine neutral and core braced
Maintain a soft bend in the knees
Lower only as far as you can while keeping good position- this doesn’t have to be all the way to the ground.
Drive your hips forward and squeeze the glutes to stand

If you’re feeling it everywhere except your hamstrings and glutes… grab one of our trainers before the technique police arrive. 👋😂

Good form = better results + happier backs.

Thanks Jenna McCready and rebecca.grace.fitness for your great ‘acting’ skills 😂👌

Seven years ago, Jen took a leap of faith and became the owner of Katifit.

What started as a gym has become so much more than that. It’s become a place where friendships have formed, confidence has grown, goals have been achieved, tears have been shared, and countless laughs have echoed through these walls.

Over the past seven years we’ve watched people walk through our doors unsure of themselves and leave stronger—not just physically, but mentally too. We’ve celebrated personal bests, weight loss, recoveries, first classes, birthdays, competitions, and life’s biggest milestones together.

Katifit has become a true community hub. A place where everyone belongs, no matter where they’re starting from.
Some of you have shared the journey from the start watching Katifit have its own transformation starting with the vibrant green and black colours and our strong arm 💪 branding.

To every member who has trusted us, every coach who has shared their passion, every family member and friend who has supported us behind the scenes, and everyone who has ever stepped through our doors… thank you. You are the reason Katifit is what it is today.

Owning a small business isn’t always easy. There have been challenges, long days, difficult decisions, and plenty of learning along the way. But every hurdle has been worth it because of the incredible community we’ve built together.

Here’s to seven amazing years… and to the next chapter of growing stronger together.

Thank you for being part of the Katifit family. 💚🖤

🧦👕 Lost Property Notice 👟🍼

Our lost property pile has grown… a lot! 😅

We’ve collected quite a few items over the past few months, including:
• Clothing

If you’ve been wondering where something disappeared to, now’s the time to come and have a look.

We’ll be donating all unclaimed items to the local op shop over the next couple of weeks to give them a new home. ❤️

Please check the lost property area next time you’re in the gym. You might be surprised what you find!

Some journeys are measured by PBs, others by pure determination.

Many of you will remember Sonasi from our original bodybuilding team. He was one of the leanest, strongest, hardest-working machines in the gym, always pushing himself and inspiring those around him.

After being involved in a serious accident, his focus has shifted from building strength to rebuilding it. With the support of his amazing physiotherapy team, and his beautiful wife by his side every step of the way, Sonasi is working incredibly hard on his rehabilitation.

Its so special to welcome him back home to Katikati—and back to his gym. Seeing him proudly wearing his new KatiFit jacket reminds us that strength isn’t just about how much you can lift. It’s about resilience, courage, and never giving up.

Welcome home, Sonasi. ❤️

We are so grateful to have you back with us. Your determination continues to inspire our entire KatiFit whānau, and we can’t wait to cheer you on through every milestone ahead.

You’ve got a whole community behind you.

When the kids go to school and you “go to work” at a gym… this is what happens 😂

Two women.
A stack of gym gear.
Absolutely no engineering qualifications.

So naturally… we built a cart.

Steering? Optional.
Brakes? Also optional.
Bails? Multiple.
Confidence? Unmatched. 🤣

Pretty sure (Jen’s husband… the actual engineer) would have a few things to say about our “design process” 👀

And yes… a few eye rolls from the seniors watching on like
“this is why we just stick to the machines” 😅

10/10 entertainment.
0/10 safety rating.
Would we do it again? …probably.

Happy 89th birthday to the one and only Ross! Our Veteran number 2, Our strong, witty, and charming hero. Still got the motivation, athleticism, and charm.
Now you have caught up to Nev you both have to roll into your 90s with style.
These guys show that the gym isn’t a chore, it’s a way of life.

Those good looks must be in the genes! - (he’s Jen’s great uncle) and even though Jen’s pop passed many years ago, it’s been so wonderful knowing his younger brother, keeping his memory alive.

Enjoy the last year of your 80s old boy! You don’t look a day over 88 🤣
