Our own Zoe Beck was invited to join the Gisborne Under 26 team for the National 5-A-Side Tournament — and what a fantastic experience she has had.

Zoe contributed to two wins on Day 1 and continued to show her skill and composure against North Harbour, helping Gisborne finish 3rd in Section 1.
To be invited to play alongside some of New Zealand’s top young bowlers is a huge opportunity.

A great experience for Zoe and valuable preparation ahead of the National Under 26 Trials in September.

Unfortunately, Stoke came out winners on the day, but the boys can be hugely proud. A Gold and Silver across the COC events is an outstanding achievement at this level. 🥇🥈

𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 26 5-𝗔-𝗦𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 – 𝗗𝗮𝘆 1

A very good first day for the Gisborne team, taking on two of the top teams early.

They went down to Wellington in their opening game, then drew with Canterbury — a great result — before beating Wairarapa in their third game.

Our own Zoe Beck was in two winning teams:

🥇 Fours vs Canterbury: 19–12
🥇 Triples vs Wairarapa: 31–5

A loss against Wellington, but this young Gisborne team is performing very well and currently sits third in their section.

First up tomorrow morning is North Harbour.⁸

👏 Great experience for Zoe, playing at this level against some of the country’s best young bowlers.
