Waikiwi Junior Prizegiving wrapped up for 2026. Thanks all for coming along today and congratulations to those who received awards.
Thanks again to our sponsors, the committee, the coaches and all the parents and family that do the running around.
Also congratulations and thank-you to Vincent Howell and Ari Shaw who have contributed hugely to Waikiwi over the last 18 years through sponsorship, playing, work on the committee, coaching, making certificates, providing gazebos and just being great people around our club. Youre an assett to the club.
Thanks everyone and enjoy the off season.
See you 2027.

Moring all,
Please be advised that I have been informed by the Invercargill City Council that ICC Metro fields are currently closed for both trainings and fixtures due to ground conditions.
This closure applies to all Metro venues.
• Star
• Waikiwi
• Bluff
• POB
• Blues
• Marist
I am waiting for Collegiate Ground assessment for the ICC.
The Invercargill City Council will reassess the fields on Thursday afternoon and advise whether they will be reopened for trainings and fixtures.
Until further notice, all clubs and schools should assume that all scheduled trainings and fixtures at Metro venues are unable to proceed.
Please note that ILT Centre Point Oreti Park will be hosting the Teenage Boys Semi Finals and Finals this weekend and is therefore not available for junior fixtures.
At this stage, the following venues are available to host junior games where possible:
• Tokanui
• Bluff - Robinson Park
• Wrights Bush (subject to confirmation) Bush RFC please confirm your fields
• Myross Bush
Woodlands is currently being assessed, and availability is still to be confirmed.
I will work through the junior draw and circulate this as soon as possible. At this stage, most junior fixtures will need to remain TBC until field availability has been confirmed.
Further communication will be provided once an update has been received from the ICC.
Kind regards,
Julie Manson

PRIZEGIVING & TEAM PHOTOS
This year we will be holding our prizegiving the week after our final game, on the 15th of August at the clubrooms. First session will be at 11am (Year 1, 2 and 3 teams) and the second session at 12:30pm (Year 4, 5, 6, 7/8 Girls and A Grade).
Following the 12:30 prizegiving session we will have a ceremony for the Year 8 kids who are leaving Waikiwi and heading off to their respective High School teams. We ask that the whole A grade team hangs around for this.
Please hand in your game tops after the final game on the 8th of August to your coach. A number went missing last year and some tops were still being returned in dribs and drabs as recently as a few weeks ago, it would be much appreciated if you can do that, thank you.
TEAM PHOTOS
Photos are being held next Wednesday the 22nd July at the clubrooms. Time slots are detailed below. Note the year 7/8 Girls are doing their photos with Marist. It is $25 a photo that is to be paid with cash on the night. All going well, we will distribute these photos at prizegiving.
