THREE GENERATIONS. ONE JERSEY

Gregor Rutledge made his Southland Stags debut last night — following in the footsteps of his dad, Jason, and grandfather, Leicester.

A Stag tradition spanning three generations. Now it's Gregor's turn to wear the S.

Welcome to the Stags, Gregor.

Congratulations to our latest SBS Bank Southland Stags to earn blazer honours, Alefosio Aho and Nic Shearer.

After debuting together at Stag Day 2025, Ale and Nic also played their Blazer Game together last night at home, vs Hawke's Bay. That's pretty special.

Well done boys on your awesome achievement, two Stags who always give it their all and wear the maroon and gold with pride.

The boys fought back in the second half, scoring three tries in tough conditions.

It was also a night of firsts and milestones, with two Stags (Gregor & Takaya) making their debuts and two players (Ale & Nic) bringing up their blazer games in the Southland jersey.

And to everyone who braved the Thursday night weather and got behind the boys — thank you.
