Happy Wednesday everyone 😃

Today we are doing a huge shoutout of appreciation to MPE Engineering for their help in creating an adapted barre for us - from the brainstorming to the creation, fit out and then to go the extra mile and say they are happy to provide it free of charge 🙌🏼

Johran’s limb differences have offered him some challenges with his barre work particularly as he is getting taller and working at advanced levels. Nathan from MPE came in late one night recently to brainstorm a barre that better suits his needs. Within days we had a measured out design that went from paper to completion and it’s absolutely wonderful 🤩🤩
Better still it’s able to be shifted around!

We are absolutely stoked and so grateful - thanks Nathan and the team at MPE Engineering 🤩

We’ve had a wonderful first three days of dancing and crafting at the Southland RAD Seminar 🥰🥰
Matariki inspired pointe shoes with Miss Gina was such fun (and the dye was only a little messy 😆😳) and today Trinity taught us how to cross-stitch bookmarks 💜

It’s been fantastic seeing the progress made in the three days so far and it’s hard to believe we have only two days left!!

🚨Some pretty cool news:

La Muse senior student and teacher Sophie Ineson is currently in Phoenix, Arizona in the United States of America alongside fellow Kiwi Jesse Rumball-Smith, from Wellington representing Aotearoa at the International Science and Engineering Fair ♥️👩🏻‍🔬

Sophie’s project, Disrupted Digestion, tests the effects of microplastics in the Antarctica environment. She compared how different microplastics affect seabirds like king penguins – simulating the conditions in their small intestines to see how microplastics act on digestive enzymes.

Jesse’s project, Wool that Breathes, involved growing porous crystalline microstructures on wool to capture CO2. Textiles that capture carbon have the potential to not only reduce emissions but also to increase the value of New Zealand’s wool.

We are so proud of Sophie to be powering forward with her passion and representing NZ 🤗😍
Everyone is looking forward to hearing all about it when you get back in the country Sophie ♥️
