Build. Don't burn out. Your pace is enough.

This leap didn't happen because I pushed harder. It happened because I didn't, not every session, not every week.

There's a version of training that chases exhaustion like it's proof of something. And there's this version, the one where you build capacity slowly enough that your body actually gets to keep it.

Burnout gets you a big effort once. Building gets you this, again and again, for as long as you keep showing up at whatever pace that takes.

Your pace is enough. Even this pace. Even the slow weeks.

Not every workout needs to leave you exhausted. A reminder worth keeping.

This one's just me, singing along, dancing badly in the car, going nowhere in particular.

No mat. No class. No plan to feel wrecked by the end of it. Just moving because the song was good and my body wanted in on it.

That still counts. Movement doesn't need a program behind it to be worth something.

Link in bio if you want the structured version too. But some days, this is the whole workout.

Barre isn't about the burn.

The small, controlled movements aren't designed to exhaust you. They're designed to build stability, neuromuscular connection, and postural strength without loading your joints.

That's why it works for women returning to movement after injury, surgery, burnout, or just a long time away.

It meets you where you are. It doesn't demand more than you have.

That's the design. That's intentional.

Questions? DM me. Or book your first class at the link in bio.

It took me years to feel okay doing badly. But it doesn't have to take you that long. You can feel it inside your first 45-minute class. Port de bras, my own barre, my own room, not one bit perfect. I'm not here to be a professional dancer. Just to move, feel good, and grab a bit of joy while I can. Curious about ballet? That's reason enough. Adult Beginner Ballet was built for exactly that. 🩰

Nobody's grading this. Arms everywhere, no shape to hold, no one watching who matters. It doesn't need to look like anything. It just needs to feel like something. This is what unravelling looks like when nobody's watching.

My shoulders hadn't dropped in days. Then this happened. Some things don't undo themselves sitting still. Sometimes you have to move it out, arms in every direction, however it comes. 🩰

Someone tells me some version of this almost every week, right before their first class

Thirty, fifty, seventy, doesn't matter. The room fills with women convinced they'll be the outlier

They're not. Our room runs thirties right through to seventies, and first classes happen at fifty five and sixty and seventy more often than you'd guess

Age was never the real barrier. The story about age was

Come find out you're the average, not the exception 🤍

most women who come back to movement get stuck on one thing: they don't know where to start

no plan, no goal, no idea what to even book first

so here's the actual starting point. you show up once. that's it. that's the whole first step

no five year plan required. one class, see how your body feels, build from there

come try a class. we'll figure the rest out together 🤍

It's not just the barre. It's the laughter while everyone's setting up mats. The conversations in the waiting room before anyone's even warmed up. The genuine smiles at the end, when you've all just survived the same set together. There's always room for one more. Come be a part of it. Tusdays & Thursdays, Jazz Time Studio 🩰

There's real research behind this. Something like 8-12 air squats every hour keeps your main muscle groups firing and your blood moving, which is exactly why a quick shake-it-out at your desk actually works when you've hit a wall. Fresh air, a bit of movement, and you're back online.

Also: it doesn't have to look good. This clip is not technically correct and my inner critic had a lot to say about posting it. But I'm not training for a company. I'm here to move, feel something, and get a bit of joy out of the day, however that looks.

Take something from class, do your own dodgy version of it at home, and don't worry if it's nothing like what we did. That's kind of the whole point. 🩰
