Hokitika Boxing Club

The time has come for Coach Russell to hang up his gloves and have a well earned break from teaching the youth of Hokitika the art of Boxing.. Russell has been giving his time to people for over 20 years free of charge and that deserves a round of applause and a huge amount of respect. On behalf of everyone who has ever walked through his gate we say thank you very much to a local legend. Love ya work coach Russell

Another Wednesday another great training for our squad. We have room in our kids class( kickboxing) so feel free to bring your child down to get in with Hokitikas very own club. We build skills, confidence ,self esteem and a sence of community.

Fun fact;
Did you know that Poutini Muay Thai and Hokitika boxing club are separate clubs operating out of the same place.. Nick and Ryan run the kickboxing and Russel runs the boxing. The more you know aye….

Facts. It takes a lot of heart and self belief to step inside the square circle. Anyone who does risks all. Only a very small percentage of the world’s population has the balls to do it. Mad respect to our up and coming fighters who are putting Hokitika on the fighting map. Love ya mahi

One of the things that bothers me most, is that very few people understand what it means to be a fighter.
I hate it when I hear someone say, 'That fighter doesn't have any guts.' I hate that, it really ticks me off.
I don't care if you're a World Champion six times over or a four round fighter who just got knocked out in thirty seconds of your first professional fight.
To step inside that ring, you have to have guts.'

Happy new year!! Classes start again on the 8th for our advanced peeps and Wednesday the 10th for everyone else. We have a big year ahead for our club so make sure your involved,
