South Island Masters Regatta

After a 12-year hiatus, the South Island Masters rowing champs will be hosted by the Legion of Rowers Southland on Ōreti River near Invercargill, for the fifth time.

When: Anzac weekend, 24–25 April 2027.

Where: The event will be staged at Invercargill and Waihopai Rowing Clubs on Ōreti River here https://maps.app.goo.gl/7BYUqphkTLF8YBWJ8

What: Racing over two days, a Saturday barbecue, and Sunday dinner & dance at Transport World https://www.transportworld.co.nz/venue-hire/gala-dinner-venue/, an experience in itself, where you dine among vintage vehicles.

Accommodation: There is plenty in Invercargill. We are currently sussing out discounts at some local hotels and will post these once we have information to share.

Congratulations on a very successful weekend (from our perspective). We were very happy with the behaviours across the weekend and the clean up and had lots of lovely comments about our beautiful area.

My biggest issue was the lack of water flowing into the toilets, I apologise for any issues this may have caused, and I have the team looking into it today.

I hope everyone enjoyed the Sunday evening dinner and celebrations, no doubt you’re all exhausted!
