𝗙𝗘𝗜 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣𝗦 | 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗮 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿

Fiona Hall is about to start a whole new phase of her life. She is bubbling with the excitement that in December she will become a grandmother for the first time . . . it’s that family focus that will take a front seat after the 2026 FEI World Championships.
But she looks back on her equestrian journey with Gangster WW with immense pride, emotion and joy.
“I have so long believed in him,” she says.
Gangster was the first horse she and Luke Dee saw when they went shopping at Cian O’Connor’s four years ago. “I just thought, ‘what a horse’. His head was held high and he was so majestic.”
She, Luke and Mimi Clark made a plan to buy a horse for the 2026 Championships. They’ve never deviated, and for Fiona to watch the combination jump clear at the Championships was akin to topping Everest.
Some of her most special memories come from when Gangster was in New Zealand for the first couple of years. “All the kids and other showjumpers have had a part of him. Whether it was a touch, look, photo or whatever, they are all part of the journey and it gives me so much pleasure.”
Fiona made many a trip to Europe to watch Luke and Gangster compete. “It has just been fabulous and I have loved it. How privileged and lucky am I to finish at Aachen, the absolute pinnacle of jumping.”
She said it took a lot of money and a good team to achieve what they had.
“Mimi has been such an integral part of it all . . . she is the glue holding it all together. I do feel a little sad but I have achieved the dream. We built Mana, created the show, bought the horse and done everything to the best of our ability.”
Gangster will be sold after the Championships and Mana Stables put on the market, so Fiona can spend more time with her family. “I will still sponsor shows in some way and I know something else involving horses will come across my path at some stage, I am just not sure what that will be.”
She bows out with a full cup and brimming with pride about what her small and special team has achieved.
