Waikato Hockey's 2026 National Hockey Championship representative teams (A's and Wildcats) are seeking player sponsors to help support travel, accommodation and tournament costs.

For $500 + GST, sponsors will receive recognition through Waikato Hockey platforms, dedicated social media exposure, and a signed item from the player they support.

Get ready for a summer of hockey at Gallagher Hockey Centre! With competitions for all ages and abilities, there is something for everyone, whether you're looking for competitive hockey, social games with friends, family fun, or junior development opportunities.

🏑 NHC Men’ s Team Manager Wanted 🏑

Waikato Hockey is seeking a Team Manager to travel with our NHC Men's team to Wellington from Saturday 12 September to Sunday 20 September.

This is a vital support role helping the team perform at their best both on and off the field. This is a volunteer position.

Key responsibilities include:

✅ Team logistics and administration
✅ Organising team meals
✅ Match day duties and support
✅ Liaising with coaches, players and tournament organisers

If you're organised, enjoy working in a team environment, and want to be part of an exciting hockey campaign, we'd love to hear from you.

Accommodation and travel are organised.

Join us for a fun, high-energy atmosphere as we celebrate the final days of Mini Hockey and finish the season in style!

👗 Fancy Dress Encouraged!
🎨 Face Painting (4.00-6.00pm Cambridge & 8.30-11.30am Gallagher Hockey Centre)
⚽ Hungerball Hockey (Gallagher Hockey Centre, 9.30am-12.30pm, weather permitting)

We'd love to see players and supporters dressed to impress. Whether it's pyjamas, tutus, superheroes, sports stars, or anything in between, get creative and join in the fun!

🏑 LAST SECONDARY FINALS FOR 2026 TONIGHT 🏑

The stage is set for an exciting evening of Secondary Finals hockey this Wednesday 26 August, with teams from across the Waikato and Mid North Island battling it out for championship honours.

🔥 Action includes:
• U18B Girls & Boys Finals
• U18C Girls & Boys Finals
• Mid-North Intercity Girls Division 1 & 2
• Mid-North Intercity Boys Division 1 & 2

From local rivalries to intercity showdowns, it's shaping up to be a fantastic night of hockey with plenty on the line.

🚗 Gallagher Hockey Centre will be busy! Please allow extra time for parking and be patient in the car park. School vans and larger vehicles are encouraged to use the first car park areas - the spaces are longer. Thanks for helping keep things running smoothly.
