UNISS Recap Day 1:

Our teams had a tough day 1 with the weather starting cold and rainy.

B Grade:
GGHS took 2 wins over Takapuna Grammar (29-25) and Pakuranga Prem (31-23). Manutuke had 2 losses to Orewa (26-21) and Cambridge (42-19).

D Grade:
Campion had 2 losses to Katikati College (28-23) and Marist (24-23) while Hawaiki Hou had a draw with Whangamata (19-19) and loss to TKKM o Honai Waititi (25-15).

Teams play their last games of Round 1 this morning before being reseeded for Round 2 this afternoon.

Our GNC Umpires Dee, Iri, Lu, Ma and Saadya are also representing GNC umpiring at the tournament. Wishing them all the best too! 🤩

WM VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH - AUGUST:

CONGRATULATIONS to Zeva Peard for being our August winner.

Zeva is one of our most reliable Youth Advisory Group members. She has been involved with our centre over a few seasons now, and always puts her hand up to help and support events or programmes. Zeva joined our junior umpire group this year and was the only one to attain her Centre Badge. She also coaches an intermediate team for her school and gets involved wherever she can. She was here on finals day to help with set up and benching for a game.

🌟 Today we are celebrating our Year 7 & 8 FutureFERNS who brought the positive vibes, energy and enthusiasm to this year’s Fast 5 Festival making it an awesome day for everyone involved. 🙌

It was fantastic to see great netball skills, teamwork and sportsmanship on display throughout the day. We’re so proud of the way our young players got stuck in, supported one another and enjoyed their netball. 👏

A huge thank you to Whitiora Tairāwhiti, GGHS student volunteers, and our participating schools for being part of such a great event. GNC was stoked to support you and our young netballers! 🏐
