Hey everyone Mathew Downie here….

It’s been a few years since shut down. It was a sad time for the Gisborne region and, especially, for our tāne.

As some of you know, I created the Blokes Golf Day Out to give our men a chance to get away from the daily grind—away from work, away from life’s pressures—and spend a day on the golf course. The hope was simple: that by getting together, they’d drop their barriers, have a laugh, and feel comfortable enough to talk to one another.

When came to an end, so did the Blokes Golf Day Out. I needed time to reevaluate, reset, and, honestly, take some time for myself to heal.

But this year, it’s time to get the golf ball rolling again.

It’s time to get our tāne back out on the course—talking, joking, supporting each other, and feeling comfortable enough to be vulnerable.

Yesterday marked the end of Men’s Mental Health Month, so it feels like the perfect time to announce that the Blokes Golf Day Out is making its return to a golf course near you later this year.

Keep an eye on this page over the coming weeks as we’ll be sharing more details.

Let’s get the boys back together—for a great day of golf, good laughs, and even better conversations.
