Who recognises this great little crag? Further east to avoid the worst of the weather moving in from the west and perfectly situated next to a river for a post-climb dip.

Some great learn to lead venues amongst our local crags - this course was held at Arawata Terrace. Once you've mastered the techniques on the lower tier you can head up to upper tier for some awesome climbs to consolidate your learning on.

How cool is this new resource, allowing you to really visualise the terrain you're planning to head into?! It also gives people a much better idea of what contour lines are used to describe.

Dreamy views from one of our alpine hiking and snowshoeing locations in the Remarkables/ Kawarau Mountains. We love inversion layers that clear just at the right time!

Taramea/ spaniard/ speargrass was used by Māori to extract a perfume that was highly sought after. Taramea translates to 'spiny thing' - very accurate and the reason we always wear gaiters to protect our lower legs when hiking here in summer.
