Who better to tell us about this than last years winners the Wassell family on their Gold Coast Trip this year.

"We were the lucky winners of the House of Travel raffle in 2025 and put it towards a family trip to the Gold Coast, making use of Jetstar's direct flights.

Emily at the House of Travel recommended the Breakers Absolute Beachfront Apartments at Broadbeach, which was perfect for us.

We were right on the beach front with a pool, and an outdoor dining area. Walking out the5 front door, Surfers Paradise was a short walk to the left and the Oasis shopping center about a kilometer to the right.

The public walkway that runs the length of the coast was busy with lycra clad limbs from the early hours of the morning to late in the balmy evenings.

The bus stop right behind the hotel was handy and Ed and Leila took the bus to Pacific Fair a few times. The tram and bus is only $0.50 a ride so it's very affordable.

Ashby made friends with the boys in the next apartment. They splashed around in the pool while we watched on, drink in hand.

We bought a family multi pass for a few theme parks and had days at Movie World, Sea World and Wet and Wild. These were pretty easy to get to using public transport.

The Gold Coast really ticked all the boxes for a family holiday, and the House of Travel recommendations were spot on. Good Luck to everyone who has bought a ticket this year."
