Otago Open Fours 2026-
13 entries, 5 qualifiers:

The final was between the composite team of Daniel French, Stephen Preddy, Greg Keene and Dean Matheson and the Momona team of Barry Cadogan, Bob Cowan, Shirley Ruthven and Jenny Cowan.

After being 3-3 after four ends team French managed a small break of four shots at the 6th end.
The seventh end proved to be a defining point of the match with the French led team picking up a three to go up 10-3.
In the end Frenchies team proved too strong and took out the final 12-4.
Congratulations guys and commiserations to Barry Cadogan and his gutsy team.

Once again, it was great to see twelve players from outside the district competing in our Open event with players from South Otago and Southland making up teams or joining Otago players. We in Otago enjoy this interaction and just having the opportunity to match up with different players adds to our experience. Thank you all.

To Tim our Umpire, thank you for another great shift and your expertise.

To Andrew as Hall Control, again you have provided fantastic service.

And to Rhonda, Helen and Lillian your work in the kitchen does not go unnoticed, thank you all.

Quarter final: D French 7, K Gould 5
Semi Final: D French 11, B Sinclair 10; B Cadogan 13, B Williams 12

Final Results just in for the Div Two Interprovincial in Christchurch:

Sadly, and despite a great late run Otago have come in Third.
Congratulations to Southland who have won Division Two and Upper Hutt who will go up to Division One next year with Southland as they were second qualifier.

Hugh Bosman has come in at second on the individual player list and Keri Te Tamaki sixth. It’s worth noting that Hugh has managed to win all his singles and with Keri all their pairs matches.
Well done to our team, a great effort by you all, safe travels, turn the heaters on for the drive home!

Also congratulations to Waikato who have won the Welch Trophy for 2026 in an extremely tight race with Hutt Valley!!
