COLGATE GAMES ARE COMING TO WHANGĀREI!

This is an amazing opportunity for our Dargaville Athletics children to experience a Track and Field competition right here in Northland.

As a club, we are starting to prepare now and would love to get an idea of how many of our athletes are interested in attending.

It doesn't matter if your child doesn't know exactly which events they would like to enter yet. At this stage, we are simply looking for an indication of interest so we can start planning our team and supporting our athletes.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
• When: January 8th- 10th
• Where: Whangārei
• Entries: Opening soon
• Entries close: Early November (no late entries are allowed)
• Event timetable: Will be released on the website before entries close, so families can see the available events and decide what their child would like to enter.

Dargaville Athletics 2026/27 Season Registration is OPEN!

Junior athletes: Register for the full season through to 31 March 2027. Please note that our trainings will begin in Term 4. Thursdays 3.30-4.30pm.

Northland Road Relays:
We’re currently putting teams together and would love to see our members getting involved and representing Dargaville Athletics! Entry is free for registered members, but more importantly, it’s a great opportunity to get out there, be part of a team and represent our club.

We’re drafting teams now, so if you or your child would like to take part, please reach out to us and let us know!

Podium performances from Dargaville athletes at the recent Northland Road Champs. Triathlete Matthew Watkins had the quickest time of the day with a casual 33min 10km. Special mention to Sophie, Nova and Charlotte for their Podiums. Well done team!!! 💪

The Northland Road Relays, hosted by Dargaville Athletics and held along the river stop banks in Ruawai, is set to be the biggest team race in the region, with Northland Championship medals up for grabs!
Teams will run an out-and-back course, passing the relay baton as they push themselves to the finish line. It’s all about teamwork, speed, and representing your club in a championship event.

Congratulations to all athletes who placed in the 2026 Athletics Northland Cross Country Championships!

Championship medals will be distributed to your respective clubs over the coming weeks and presented by your club.

Please note that the results published here are the Northland Championship results and include only championship distances and athletes who are registered and eligible with a Northland-affiliated athletics club. Full event results, including all participants, will be available through Athletics Whangārei.

A special congratulations to all our Northland Champions and placegetters. It was fantastic to see athletes from across the region taking part and representing their clubs with pride.

Thank you to Athletics Whangārei for hosting a great event, and to all the volunteers, officials, coaches, supporters, and families who helped make the day a success.

Today Dargaville Athletics took a strong team of 20 athletes to the 2026 Northland Club Cross Country Championships at Barge Park.

With wet underfoot conditions and plenty of mud, it made for a true cross-country course! Well done to all our athletes for their fantastic efforts.

A big thank you to Whangarei Harriers and Athletics Northland for hosting a great event!

Congratulations to Marelie on placing 13th at the North Island Cross Country Championships in Taupo today!

Your consistent training and commitment over the past six months have really shown in your strong running form, and it's fantastic to see all that hard work paying off. This is a well-deserved result against some of the best competition in the country.
