𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙡, 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙙𝙖𝙮(ish)!

After a 12-year journey, today marks the end of my chapter at Stirling Sports Cromwell.

My absolute highlight over the years has been meeting locals, traveller's, and holiday makers and hearing your stories. We’ve been trusted to be a part of your lives—fitting you for your adventures, sports, and fitness journeys. You, our loyal supporters, have very much been the heart of this story. Thank you, really. Thank you.

To my wonderful staff over the years —it has been my genuine pleasure getting to know you and watching where life has taken you. You kept the ship steady and smiling while I was navigating the waves of life, motherhood, and all the many other commitments I’m known to take on. My fondest memories are woven with those of our long-termers: Nikita, Zee, and Grace. Your bright faces and dedication brightened every day.

To my family and friends—you know the true weight of this 12-year journey. The financial pressures, the relentless pace of operating a seven-day, 363-day-a-year business, the balancing act of family, the missed summer holidays, and the extra work I took on to make ends meet. Special thanks to my mum for learning Xero and, over the past three years, taking over account admin. Regan, your support through these last challenging two months has been my anchor, and at times, sanity, and I simply couldn’t have done it without you.

It is incredibly sad to close a business that has served our community for 18 years. I genuinely believe we are fortunate to live in our small but rapidly growing community. As I leave, my hope is that we consciously fight the constant pull to shop online or travel elsewhere. That we choose to stay connected, to invest in each other, and to keep the unique spirit of our local community thriving.

While this chapter closes, the friendships and memories I've made here will most certainly endure. I leave with a heart full of gratitude for everything I have learned on this journey, and every person who walked through our door.

After 11 years, 8 months, and let’s be honest—countless extra minutes of patience with me—plus those two you did with the previous owner… who’d have thought we’d actually see this day?

You’ve been the human equivalent of a sturdy lace-up sports shoe: reliable, supportive, and impossible to wear out. Your shoe knowledge is legendary. At this point, you’ve personally fitted more feet than some podiatrists—arguably, with more grace and less judgment.

You survived three shop makeovers, management changes, battles with head office, stock nuances, and trained an endless parade of newbies (with saint-like patience). I am sure there were many times you wanted to hide in a changeroom, but you consistently showed up. Over the years, I watched your confidence and people skills quietly grow and develop.

Let’s not forget the battle scars (your sports ones😊): a broken ankle that required surgery, a concussion, and still you came limping (or slightly dazed) back to work. That’s next-level dedication, and I think you are a rockstar for doing so.

And this year, a milestone: your first Boxing Day off in 12 years. No chaos, no sale signs, no frantic bargain shoppers.

Which brings me to your next chapter: selling sheds and outbuildings at Versatile. From fitting people into shoes… to helping fit them for sheds. It’s meant to be 😊.

I can’t thank you enough for your service, patience, and resilience.
