Fiji 2026 is around the corner and this morning I woke up to one more booking 🌺🙌🏽🌴🐟
And we do get some of those, actually on our first ever retreat we had someone that booked the night before and I thought it was a scam 😆 but payment was made in full and arrival time was provided for pick up so 🤷🏽♀️
I trusted and surrender to our impulsive yogi and it was epic 👌🏼
Almost burnt out from work and in much need of a retreat/trip/holiday 💅
Because in simple words that’s what our Yoga Alegría is! A week full of joy, nature, warmth, community, experiences and movement and I’m so excited to start finalising the last details of our experience 🩷
Surprises, magic and relaxation!
All you need is your flights and we’ll take care of the rest 🫶🏽
Ah! Perhaps think of one or two books you may want to read 📚 Fiji is perfect for that 🙂↔️

❄️ Last day of winter… apparently…
We thought we’d finish winter with a nice little goodbye, but instead we got hail, wild weather and a very dramatic reminder that apparently winter wasn’t quite ready to leave 😂 ( but I’m ready!)
And finally tomorrow… hello spring 🌸 🩷🥹
Anyway! September events are here, and a little insight, I’ve always thought yoga can be both things. We can take our practice seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. ☝🏽
There’s space for the quiet, grounding, deeply intentional practice ☝🏽 and there’s also space to laugh, play, move to ridiculous music and do something just because it’s fun.
So we’re welcoming spring with Bad Bunny tunes + yoga squad energy 🐰🔥
Because apparently that’s how we’re doing it.
And at the end of the month we’re hosting another✨ Blindfold Yin + Sound 🧘🏽♀️
Plus, there’s a class on tonight 6:15 👌🏼 if you want one last winter practice before we officially call it spring.
See you on the mat, whether you come for the deep stuff, the silly stuff, or a bit of both🙂↔️🤍

Can confirm Sky had the Happiest Dog Day ever !
But with us, every day is dog day.
Our downward dogs are brighter, our up dogs are funnier and overall we get inspiration from this wee fellow to embody savasana! 🐶
Cheers to all the dogs that make the world a better place 🐾 💕

Okay but… puffy paint??? 🥹
I feel like we all need an excuse to be a little bit creative and unserious sometimes.
So we’re painting socks + tote bags at the studio 🎨
You can make yours cute, completely ridiculous, match your personality, or just put a little flower on it and call it a day 😂
And you get to take it home afterwards 💅
No art skills required. In fact, I strongly encourage coming with absolutely no plan.
Bring a friend, come by yourself, make something, have a drink, chat, and spend a couple of hours doing something that has nothing to do with being productive.
🧦 Socks or 👜 tote
🎨 Puffy paint
This Saturday at Being Yoga
6pm 👌🏼
I have a suspicious amount of puffy paint sitting here now, so… please come use it 😂

Oversharing Sunday 🫠
I saw one of those posts about confidence that said something like:
“Confidence is walking into a room knowing not everyone will like you, and being okay with that.”
And I thought… Hold on! Actually, no!
To me, confidence isn’t walking into a room thinking about who might not like me.
It’s not thinking about them at all.
Period. 🫰🏽
And I don’t mean that arrogantly. I think I feel this way because I worked way too hard to get here.
To embrace myself. To make myself a priority. To actually understand self love and not as a cute concept, but through making radical changes in my life and decluttering my heart from everything that wasn’t good for it.
And those changes cost me…
I had to grieve old versions of myself I was once okay with.
And I had to grieve people I loved deeply, while painfully understanding the place I actually held in their hearts.
So confidence, for me, has never been about how other people perceive me.
It’s about what happens inside me.
How I carry myself. How I speak to myself. How I treat myself in my own head, in my own heart, in my own home, when nobody is looking.
Because that is who I actually am.
And I’ve worked way too hard to carry shame to also carry around the question of whether someone else likes me.
When shame shows up, I try to hold that part of myself gently.
Not shame it for feeling shame.
Just forgive it. Understand it. Love it a little more.
Because I’m kind. I’m thoughtful. I’m generous.
And when I love, I love so deeply it hurts my guts.
I know that about myself now.
So my confidence isn’t dependent on whether someone likes me or doesn’t.
It’s rooted in how well I can love myself , especially on the days when I don’t particularly like myself.
Because I’m stuck with me.
Like… kinda forever. 😂
And honestly?
I’m really grateful I am.
Maybe confidence isn’t, I know everyone will like me.
Or even, I don’t care if they don’t.
Maybe it’s simply.
I now know where I want my attention to go 🫰🏽
Ok bye see you tomorrow x

A little reminder about “exposure”…
So many artists, teachers, creatives, photographers, musicians, speakers and small business owners are asked to give their time, skills and expertise for free in exchange for “exposure”…
And look, I believe deeply in giving back. I’ve taught for free, for koha, for $5, volunteered and donated my time many times throughout my career. I still do.
But there’s a difference between choosing to give and being expected to give.
If I’m being asked to travel somewhere, prepare something, use my equipment, give up my time and expertise , while someone else is making money from it, a social media mention isn’t really payment. At least not for me today.
And the interesting thing is what happens when you say no.
You politely say, “Thank you, but I’d need to charge for that.”
Suddenly… silence…
The invitation disappears.
The energy changes.
You get the cold shoulder.
And honestly… boom 💥
Because if the relationship was genuinely about collaboration and mutual respect, why should my “no” suddenly change how you see me?
Sometimes the reaction to a boundary tells you more than the original request ever did.
I’ve had to learn this one myself.
Being compassionate doesn’t mean making yourself endlessly available.
Giving back doesn’t mean giving everything away.
And charging for your work doesn’t mean you care any less.
We can be generous AND value our labour.
I will always believe in finding ways to give back. But I also believe people should be able to make a living from the thing they have spent years learning, building and pouring themselves into.
So yes, I’ll happily give when I choose to give.
But please don’t mistake my kindness for an obligation.
Exposure is lovely. Being valued is better. ❤️
