NZ vs INDIA >>> WHERE IT ALL STARTED
Long before the next chapter, there was a first.

22 February 1968.

India arrived in Christchurch to play New Zealand at Lancaster Park.

Five match days later, New Zealand had a six-wicket win — and Graham Dowling had written his name into the record books with a remarkable 239.

The Match was played over the 22, 23, 24, 26 and 27th Feb. Back in those days Sundays were for rest days.

This match was the second Test (of 4) between the two countries in New Zealand — the first had been played in Dunedin a week earlier with the other two matches to be played in Wellington and Auckland.

It was the first time India played in Christchurch, and despite the loss, it would not be the last time we would see them in our home city.

11 matches, more than 5 decades of history and 58 years later, India is coming back to Christchurch this October.
