Waiporoporo did it! 🏆💜
An absolutely incredible (and only slightly stressful) final against Belfast today, and we could not be prouder of this group of girls.
A massive thank you to Belfast for being such incredible and challenging opponents throughout the season. You have pushed us, tested us and made us work that little bit harder every time we played you.
At the start of the season, we asked the girls to write down their goals and almost every single one of them put down that they wanted to win games and make it to finals. Safe to say that manifestation must have been working just as hard as they have!
Today, the whole team were MVPs. Every single girl stepped up, trusted each other and put into practice everything they have been working so hard on at training. We asked them to be brave, back themselves, work for each other and never give up and today they did exactly that. They played with so much heart, determination and belief, and watching them put it all together when it mattered most was honestly something special. Today’s result wasn’t just about one game, it was a reflection of the work, growth and commitment they have shown throughout this entire season (and the few seasons before it!).
We are so unbelievably proud of every single one of them. They have worked incredibly hard for this, and they absolutely deserve to celebrate it. 💜
What a way to finish the season!

What a grind!
The girls took on Avonside in the final today, and what an absolute battle it was! Neck-and-neck right from the start, with both teams fighting hard every minute.
To see the girls go five points down, fight their way back, and hold it at a draw for most of the game, only to lose in the final seconds… what a performance. The fight, the spark and the determination were incredible.
I’m so, so proud of how much these ladies have grown since the beginning of the season. They’ve shown time and time again that when they’re in a rut, they dig deep, back each other, and find a way to fight their way out. That growth has been awesome to watch.
Once again, MVP was almost impossible to pick — every single girl played her heart out today but today Aunty, you are our MVP.
Congratulations to Avonside on the win. You worked hard ,what a game!
To our girls — hold your heads high. You should be incredibly proud of yourselves and everything you’ve achieved this season.
Back to the drawing board… bigger and better next year!
See you all at prizegiving!

Our A team girls have made finals and we are up against Avonside Girl's High tomorrow.
It would be amazing if you could come down and support our girls. They have worked so hard this year, they're as ready as they ever could be. As a team we have had our fair share of injuries and limited subs but have still shown up week in, week out and have never given up.
One last push girls, you've got this 💪
And as usual, keep the support positive towards players, opposition, coaches, managers, umpires and our benchies.

What a game from Waiporoporo today! 💜 Beyond proud of these girls and how hard they worked, they left absolutely everything out on court.
The game didn’t start quite the way they wanted, but they stuck to their game plan and, once they found their rhythm, they were off! Every single player was getting in front to receive the ball (finally 🙌), with some beautiful rolls, holds, dodges, cuts and twirls.
Rangi Ruru made the girls work for it, and they had to dig deep right until the final whistle to come away with a 36-20 win.
MVP today was Evelyn, who produced the best quarter of netball I’ve ever seen from her in my four years of coaching her. Ev picked up four intercepts and forced multiple turnovers, helping swing the momentum firmly back in Halswell’s favour.
Now it’s off to the finals next week!💜 Cannot wait to see what these girls produce🔥

Today the girls came up against St. Margaret in our semifinal — a team full of tall, rangy and very skillful players. The girls were on the back foot for most of the game, but they never stopped working. They dug deep, kept grinding and slowly chipped away at the score.
Huge shout-out to the St. Margaret shooters — some seriously skillful shooting!
Our girls showed incredible heart and managed to come away with the win 29–28!
No individual Player of the Day this week because the whole team earned it! Every single girl gave everything they had out there.
So bloody proud of you ladies. FINALS,LESSS F*****NG GOOOO!!!

Waiporoporo played a beautiful game today against Middleton Grange. The girls brought intensity and hustle from start to finish — chasing every loose pass, hunting down intercepts and backing each other up all over the court.
So proud of the determination, positivity and humour this group of girls bring every week, and especially their never-give-up attitude. Even if one of them did try to take the coach’s head off while she was sitting on the bench… 😂
MVP for today was Jemma. Our beautiful Jemma, who somehow never stops smiling while skipping around the court! Jemma picked up multiple intercepts today, was consistently in the right place for feeding, drove hard into space and, most importantly, was the ultimate positive and supportive teammate. Always cheering for everyone on court and celebrating everyone’s successes.
Off to the semi-finals next week after finishing top of our section. Massive achievement from the girls!
Coach Jess 💜
