++ Levi Stout: Kiwi On A Roll! 🇳🇿🥏

--> Gidday, TPU lovers! We don't normally cover players who aren't sponsored by Vortica, but after an outstanding performance at the Disc Golf World Championships, we couldn't let this one pass without giving a huge shout-out to hard-working Kiwi professional disc golfer Levi Stout.

Because tied 20th at Worlds is one hell of an achievement!

Levi finished T20 alongside Joona Heinänen, Niklas Anttila and Teemu Lampainen, in a field stacked with many of the best disc golfers on the planet.

And he didn't just sneak into the top 20.

Playing off an already impressive 1020 PDGA rating, Levi shot above his rating in every single round of Worlds — 1042, 1024, a massive 1052 in round three, 1025, and then closed the tournament with another superb 1048-rated final round.

That 1052 third round is particularly worth dwelling on. That's world-class disc golf, on the biggest stage in the sport.

By the end of the tournament Levi had finished ahead of the likes of Chris Dickerson, Casey White, Raven Newsom, Andrew Presnell, Kevin Jones, Ezra Aderhold, early leader Evan Smith, Simon Lizotte, Matty O, Corey Ellis, Paul Ulibarri, Gavin Babcock, James Conrad — and around 110 other seriously good disc golfers.

For a Kiwi travelling halfway around the world to compete against that calibre of field, T20 at Worlds is a massive result.

And it's part of what has already been a pretty remarkable year.

Earlier this season Levi took a leap of faith in himself and his abilities, heading off to Europe and the USA to chase his disc golfing dreams. He won the ReykjavĂk Open in Iceland in July and has continued putting in the performances required to maintain that 1020 rating.

And then there's this:

Levi currently leads the DGPT Rookie of the Year standings.

Yep — a Kiwi sitting at the top of the DGPT rookie standings, ahead of Rainers Balodis and the rest of the field.

That's pretty bloody cool.

Our hat is off to you, Levi.

An outstanding season so far, and something for the whole New Zealand disc golf community to be proud of.

We wish you the very best for the rest of the season — and whatever comes next.

Kia tika te rere — Enjoy the flight.

6 portable hand warmers no battery needed press heat random - Temu New Zealand 15/08/2026

++ Sunday 2pm Coaching @ Queenspark is OFF

--> Gidday, plastic-addicts! Sadly, the weather on Sunday afternoon looks to be very cold and rainy, with sleet on the hills. It's hard to learn when your hands are cold and wet.

And on that topic: are you familiar with the reusable hand warmers which contain sodium acetate trihydrate? These are non-toxic and completely safe in use. You activate them but clicking a tiny metal part inside the pouch, which triggers a phase change in the liquid, turning it to crystals. The phase change is exothermic, and they produce usable heat for about 30 to 40 minutes.

They are recharged by placing in a pot of boiling water, where the crystals absorb heat, and phase change back to a liquid.

Worth their own weight in gold, in my opinion, but they'll only cost you less than $2.50 each when you order six from Temu via the link below. I have some of these, and I recommend them without reservation.

Enjoy your weekend, and...

Sarah's flying high and taking the disc golf world by storm 13/08/2026

++ Sarah's achievements recognised in Neighbourly article

--> Gidday, junior disc golf fans! Below is a lovely article, detailing Sarah's incredible achievements during her fourth US disc golfing trip. This time it wasn't about taking another junior world championship title in the same division she won last year - FJ12.

Because Sarah's biggest recent goal has been to become the youngest ever player in a DGPT event, Dad Paul created an itinerary which placed Sarah into the heart of professional disc golf competition. Sarah has ambitions to become a professional disc golfer, and so it's important for her to establish early on, if what she thinks she wants is actually what she will enjoy!

And on that note, it has been a true joy to sponsor Sarah again this year, and here at Vortica we are very proud of her indeed. In fact, I think she is the most exciting disc golfer on Earth today, and I would rather have a round with her, than any other player.

And I am not alone in thinking like this. Sarah is a magnet for all professional disc golfers. And I understand why: All of us look at her performances and we are flabbergasted at what she has done, and what she is doing today. And then we look into the future, but we find ourselves unable to say for sure just HOW good she will become. And that is a very exciting place to be.

We simply have no idea what heights she may reach. And, every time I have made an apparently crazy prediction about her, she has greatly exceeded it. If that doesn't make her the most exciting player today, I don't know what would.

Please note: Sarah's four world distance titles are stunning, but the report of her throwing 388 metres is an error. It was 388 feet, or 118 metres. That would be an FJ12 world record, by the way. :)

Kia tika te rere - Enjoy the flight!
