On Monday 31st August, our Duathlon took place in some very wet and challenging conditions!

A huge well done to all the students who braved the rain and gave it their all across the course, and congratulations to everyone who placed! 🏅

Tournament Week 2026 That’s a Wrap! 🙌

What an incredible week of sport it’s been, with schools from across the motu competing in a wide range of tournaments and showcasing the very best of secondary school sport ✨

Here in Ōtautahi, School Sport Canterbury was proud to host the Gary Sowden Football Tournament on behalf of New Zealand Secondary Schools Football. Over four days, schools and teams from all around Aotearoa battled it out on the pitch.

A massive congratulations to our local side Villa Maria who came out on top in a nail-biting final to win the championship 🏆

📣 RESPECT OUR OFFICIALS 📣

A large number of the officials who make school sport possible are students themselves. They are learning, gaining experience and doing their very best, often while volunteering their time so that others can get out there and play.

They won’t get every decision right, and that’s okay. Just like our players, they are developing too. There is no place for abuse towards referees or officials in school sport.

Without officials, the games simply don’t happen.
