A massive milestone for a Heathcote legend! 🦁🏏

Congratulations to John Garry, who last season surpassed an incredible 14,000 runs for Heathcote Cricket Club, now sitting on 14,044 club runs! 👏

John has also continued his success representing both Canterbury and New Zealand Over 50s, where he is currently the leading run scorer across all Over 50s formats, averaging 41.76.

An outstanding achievement and a huge contribution to Heathcote over the years. Plenty more runs to come! 💛💙

Alistair Derry joined Heathcote last season, playing for the 2nd XI (Champs grade) and 3rd XI (Div 2). Over the winter break he’s had a fantastic opportunity playing for Chichester Priory Cricket Club in the south of England. He’s had a cracking time - playing at Arundel Castle, scoring a 100 and even watching the Blackcaps at Lords!

Over the winter Felix Nielsen had been playing for Arundel Cricket Club in Sussex near the south coast of England. He works at the castle and sometimes he even plays there. What an awesome experience for a young fella!

We’re tracking down more of our Heathcote players spending their Kiwi winter in the UK summer.

Batting allrounder Caleb Donaldson is playing for Clifton Cricket Club in the Greater Manchester League.

Marek Bungard is playing for Whitburn Cricket Club in the north of England during our off season. Rumour has it that he’s been doing ok with the bat and ball, and that he’s also taking up a role as a stunt double in Emmerdale! Nice one Marek 😀
