2026 has been a year of setting our foundations and focusing on what matters most, the wellbeing of our players and the future of our club.

It’s been 24 long years since Ōtautahi RFC had a women’s team.

We’re incredibly grateful for the passionate people creating the leadership pathways and opportunities for our wāhine and kōtiro.

What we’re building now is about making sure our kōtiro have a place to grow, lead and one day thrive under Ōtautahi leadership.

We are so proud of our wāhine and kōtiro representing our club and stepping out onto the big stage representing Waitaha, Canterbury Rugby and Canterbury Bulls Rugby League.

The Hikoi!!! 1/8/2026

Every Rugby Club in the Canterbury province from as far away as the Chatham Islands participated in “The Hikoi” Handing over the Mana of Lancaster Park to Te Kaha Stadium. We had 3 Generations of Otautahi Carrying our Flag 💛🖤 Arama Cooper Jr & Akaina Cooper. Was an honour to have such a special whanau represent us on such a special occasion. Canterbury Rugby & the Waitaha Rugby whanau were grateful to have you amongst them..
With Arama Cooper Jr having the honour to Mihi our new home grounds Lancaster Park & do the final Karakia before the Hikoi began, it was something special. Nga Mihi Nui Arama & Akaina for representing not only us but your whanau, our whanau, Otautahi Rugby 🏉 💛🖤

Due to the extremely cold, wet weather conditions across the region today ALL Junior Rugby (Years 1–8) fixtures in Ellesmere, Metro, and North Canterbury have been cancelled 😢

The last ship to sail for our senior teams for 2026 is our “PIRATES” What an achievement in 2026 getting so far! With struggling to get numbers each week at the beginning of the season to now competing in the Plate Semi Final!!! 🏴‍☠️💛🏴‍☠️
