This week it was Leonie's turn to take us around Cashmere. We started opposite Princess Margaret and wondered why it is no longer taking patients. then there was a fairly tricky road crossing but we all got to the other side. A slight rise took us up to the Old Stone Cottage. Although it was sunny there was a cold wind somost of us were happy to see the cafe. thankyou Leonie

Lyn lead this weeks walk. It was a sunny day but we had rain over night so we had to negotiate a few puddles. We all went out to Rotu Kohatu Reserve and parked on the road. The area has been developed since our last visit and there were quite a few people around when we arrived. Great fun We went to Lilys for coffee and cake after. Thanks lyn it was fun.

Val's walk took place on one of the coldest Sundays in winter. Rain was threatening and the wind transformed the temperature from 7 degrees to a cool 1 degree. However with umbrellas, raincoats and walking group enthusiasm we took off towards the river and the new CCC river walk. I tried to photograph the rainbows I did catch the plastic bottles in the community garden, the new bridge and the books hanging in the coffee shop at the Richmond club where we had coffee. Thank you Val

Another walk. This time John and Wendy took us around Burnside. We ambled past the high School and into jellie park. It was a day for the frisbee competition so we roamed through all the young people who were expert at throwing frisbees a long way. Back around and we went through the state housing area with the uneven footpaths. We all managed and back to the cars and off to coffee. Thankyou John and Wendy for another brilliant walk.

Di took the walking group on a tour around Hillmorton. Another very cold start to the day but improved. The walkers started in Lyttleton St., over to Wrights Rd and then along the walkway. Coffee was enjoyed at Mosaic Cafe in the Barrington Centre. Thankyou Di Photos to come.

Well Sunday was cold! It was very difficult to work out the bus timetable and then get there in time.. I then had to persuade the bus driver that he had to take me as I only had an online goldcard. Anyway after all that I found Helen on the bus so I started to enjoy the day. Linda had done a fantastic job of arranging a walk around the central city looking at the new street art installations. Lil took photos of them to share with you. She also took a photo of some random dogs we saw while walking. We then went to black and white for coffee and found a able with the right number of seats all ready. It was still cold when we finished the walk but we were much happier after the outing. Thank you Linda

Another cold start but Janice and Graham lead us around the Regents Park walkways. There were many huge houses to keep us alert and we then found main north rd and the railway. of course the main topic of conversation was "where are we having coffee? " A fun morning and we finished up at Cosy Cafe . They had prepared a long table inside and it was very much appreciated.

WEll Murrays walk was held on a frosty day and you can see the frost still around in the photos. Diane took the photos this week because my phone was flat so thank you Diane. Murray had us heading for the forest but we then scooted around and ended up going past Alpine view village noting all the dogs and back via Burwood hospital. A varied walk and ideal for the middle of winter. Back to Esquires for coffee
