Day one of the Southern Tour was contested in conditions that started a bit cool, but warmed nicely through the day. Thanks to the riders and officials who made it such a great day. Hi everyone!
Just thought I’d send through a quick update from Europe. The trip has been going really well so far. It’s been a massive learning experience, and I feel like I’ve improved a lot since the start of the camp.
The racing over here is on another level! Early on I was getting pulled out of races after being dropped, but that’s all part of the experience and has really helped me learn and improve.
My last race on the 19th was one of my best yet. I finished 48th out of 170 riders in a tough 160 km rolling race, so I was pretty happy with that result and it’s great to see the hard work starting to pay off.
I’m looking forward to taking on my first European night criterium, followed by a race on Sunday that finishes at the top of a mountain. The final 25 km is all uphill, so it will definitely be a challenge.
