Not every doctor and fitness professional share the same values as you.
Some will push one methodology or medication while the other will push something else.
It’s hard to sift through the conflicting messages and get to the meat of what really matters, so here’s an easy filter.
If your goal is longevity; muscle mass, cardiovascular fitness, quality relationships, a wholesome diet, and sufficient sleep are your top priorities.

If you want to live a long healthy life free from disability, you need both.
VO2 max, a measure of cardiovascular fitness, has the strongest influence of any single variable on FUTURE life expectancy.
Read that again.
If you want to maximize the time you have left on this planet you need more cardiovascular fitness.
That’s lever number 1.
Lever number 2 is muscle mass.
Muscle mass decreases with age, the process is called sarcopenia.
As we lose muscle mass we lose physical competence.
We get slower, our balance fails, our reaction time gets slower, our coordination withers.
The result?
An elderly population who’s no longer confident in thei physical ability who withdraws from society.
Set yourself up for a future you can look forward to.
Prioritize your cardiovascular fitness.
Get and stay strong.
Live a life you’re excited to wake up for, every single day.

Ever wondered what our logo actually means?
Most of you have seen it a thousand times. Here’s what’s in it.
The cards.
Nobody picks their hand. You get dealt your genetics, your injury history, your age, the job that keeps you at a desk all day, the back that’s been niggling since who knows when. You didn’t choose any of it and you can’t swap it out.
That’s your hand. And it’s different to the person next to you.
The name.
Cards don’t win games. Play does. Two people can hold the exact same hand and one of them walks away with it winning in life, because they knew what to do with what they had.
That’s the difference between having a body and having a game plan.
The three cards with figures on them.
Look closely and you’ll see one running, one on the rig, one under a barbell. Conditioning, gymnastics (moving yourself), weightlifting.
That’s how we play the hand. Not one of them on its own. All three, in the right order, at the right time, for you. That’s why your game plan isn’t the same as the person beside you, and why we’ll pull you off something or push you toward something depending on what’s going on with you that week.
The fourth card.
It’s a cross. Turn the card upright and it’s the medical cross. Health.
That one isn’t a training card. That’s what we’re playing for. The other three are just how we get there.
The Game Plan is the method. Health is the point. Being able to do your job without pain, pick up your kids, get through your seventies still doing what you want to do.
So, the whole thing:
You don’t pick your hand. You pick how you play it, and we help you play it effectively.
That’s what’s on the wall, on our shirts, and on the sign above the door.

This community never misses. 👏
Every month we ask our members to shout out the people and moments that made a difference.
This is what it looks like when a gym actually becomes part of your life.
If you’ve been on the fence, this is what you’re waiting for.

🏆 Member of the Month – July 🏆
Abby Simmiss is member of the month for July because she has been one of the most consistent and positive presences in the gym. She turns up, she works, and she does it without fuss (most of the time). She’s even been loving squats recently… Which is unheard of!
Just as importantly, she lifts the people around her. Abby is the sort of member who encourages others through the last round, sticks around after her own work is finished, and tries to bring the best out in people.
Congratulations Abby. Well deserved.
