For October, Claire and I have created something a little different
Claire Hand to Heart filmed this while I was very absorbed in playing at :: KULA Muriwai :: Actually, I’m often moving around while playing over people during my sound immersions, so generally what people capture when they candidly film me is… my backside! 😂
But this is a little glimpse of what we offer on our women’s day retreats. ✨
For October, Claire and I have created something new — Inner Compass. ❤️
A day designed for women who are feeling overwhelmed, stretched in too many directions, mentally busy or simply disconnected from themselves.
We’ve brought together guided meditations, a shamanic journey, a guided drumming meditation, and deeply immersive sound experiences, alongside journalling and card reading. There’ll also be plenty of time to slow down, reflect and listen to your own inner wisdom.
It’s an opportunity to step away from the demands of everyday life, gain some clarity, let go of what’s no longer serving you, and reconnect with yourself — while also making genuine connections and friendships with other women.
We want to keep the day accessible, so delicious homemade morning and afternoon tea will be lovingly provided, and we invite you to bring your own lunch to enjoy as a relaxed garden picnic. 🌿
We also felt our last event was a little crowded, so this time we’re being firmer with ourselve )about keeping numbers lower to create a more intimate, spacious experience
Do join us x

If you’re craving a day to stop, breathe, reflect and reconnect, this might be just what you need. 💚

INNER COMPASS A Women's Day Retreat at Kula Muriwai

🌿 What is Restorative Yoga? 🌿
In a world that constantly asks us to do more, achieve more, and rush from one thing to the next, Restorative Yoga offers something beautifully different...
✨ Permission to simply be.
Restorative Yoga is a deeply relaxing practice where the body is fully supported with bolsters, blankets, and blocks, allowing you to settle into gentle poses and soak up the benefits. There's no striving, instead, your nervous system is invited to slow down, your mind becomes quieter, and your body begins to rest and repair.
Many people are surprised that doing so little can have such a profound effect. One of the most obvious benefits my students often mention is improved sleep, and also
🍃 Deep relaxation and reduced stress
🍃 Lower blood pressure and heart rate ( people measure this on their smart watches!)
🍃 Relief from anxiety and overwhelm
🍃 Reduced muscle tension and chronic pain
🍃 Improved energy levels through genuine rest
🍃 Support for your immune system and overall well being
Restorative Yoga is one of the most accessible forms of yoga because the props do the work of supporting you.
Sometimes the most healing thing we can do is to stop trying so hard and allow ourselves to receive.
✨ If your body has been asking you to slow down, perhaps it's time to listen and Restorative Yoga at The Yoga Studio is especially lush, with a toasty warm room and lots of bolsters and blankets.
I've found this style of yoga has had profound effects for me and helps me live well with Addison's disease. Many of my students have also found it beneficial during cancer recovery.
🍃 If you're ready to experience deep rest and discover how restorative yoga can support your wellbeing, I'd love to welcome you to class. Come and give yourself permission to pause, breathe, and simply be.
