πΏ What is Restorative Yoga? πΏ
In a world that constantly asks us to do more, achieve more, and rush from one thing to the next, Restorative Yoga offers something beautifully different...
β¨ Permission to simply be.
Restorative Yoga is a deeply relaxing practice where the body is fully supported with bolsters, blankets, and blocks, allowing you to settle into gentle poses and soak up the benefits. There's no striving, instead, your nervous system is invited to slow down, your mind becomes quieter, and your body begins to rest and repair.
Many people are surprised that doing so little can have such a profound effect. One of the most obvious benefits my students often mention is improved sleep, and also
π Deep relaxation and reduced stress
π Lower blood pressure and heart rate ( people measure this on their smart watches!)
π Relief from anxiety and overwhelm
π Reduced muscle tension and chronic pain
π Improved energy levels through genuine rest
π Support for your immune system and overall well being
Restorative Yoga is one of the most accessible forms of yoga because the props do the work of supporting you.
Sometimes the most healing thing we can do is to stop trying so hard and allow ourselves to receive.
β¨ If your body has been asking you to slow down, perhaps it's time to listen and Restorative Yoga at The Yoga Studio is especially lush, with a toasty warm room and lots of bolsters and blankets.
I've found this style of yoga has had profound effects for me and helps me live well with Addison's disease. Many of my students have also found it beneficial during cancer recovery.
π If you're ready to experience deep rest and discover how restorative yoga can support your wellbeing, I'd love to welcome you to class. Come and give yourself permission to pause, breathe, and simply be.
