Quick fire Q+A with Rochelle!

What do you tell yourself on the days when motivation is low?
Just start, the rest will follow. And then I try to actually figure out why my motivation is low instead of just pushing through. Is it sleep, food, do I need a bit of self-care? Usually the answer is to be gentler on myself, not harder!

What’s the moment in a class that makes you think “this is why I do this”?
Watching a client who started out completely new to Pilates nail a movement they once found impossible, and seeing how proud they are of themselves in that moment. My mum is a perfect example. She’s been doing Pilates with me for six months now and the improvement in her strength, coordination, range of movement and balance has been incredible to watch.

What do you wish every new client knew before their first session?
It’s not as scary as you think. You will surprise yourself with what you’re capable of. Just trust the instructor and trust the process, the rest takes care of itself.

Exciting news – from July onwards, all classes at Reform Vic Park will be 50 minutes in duration! 🎉

The extra 5 minutes means your instructor has the time to:
✅ Deliver the full Reform method as it was designed to be taught
✅ Guide you through a proper cool-down and stretch
✅ Give you more time to build strength, refine your motor skills, and move with greater intention

Our class timetable remains the same, just expect a slightly longer, more rewarding session each time you come in! Any existing bookings you’ve made will also be unaffected.

Hands in loops for ab work = the crunch level-up that you love! Here’s what makes it so good:

Unlike a standard crunch where the arms are passive, holding the loops means the upper body has to actively work with the reformer’s spring resistance. This connects the arms, shoulders and core, turning what looks like a simple ab set into a full-body coordinated effort.

Deep core activation is non-negotiable – the subtle challenge of managing the straps AND maintaining legs in tabletop position means your deep stabilising muscles (transverse abdominis and pelvic floor) have to switch on… and stay on!

Spinal flexion becomes more intentional. The resistance from the loops encourages you to roll through the spine with real control, rather than letting the hip flexors take over.

True core strength is about coordination and control. The reformer’s loops just bring that to the next level! 🖤
