Congratulations to young rider Maggie Allen and her pony Lady in Red GS who were 4th in the 2025/26 Grassroots Eventing Series. A huge achievement for such a young rider 😁

The Taupo Three day sees the end of the 2025/26 eventing season. And what a wonderful finish for Jessica Sutherland and Secret Runner - 3rd place in the CCN1* - L National Class, and best performed thoroughbred in the class. Third also in the Pet n Spur National Young Rider Series.
Another great result for Sharlene Mitchell and Diarnimo, winner of the Bonecrusher Promotions CCN95 - S, adding the three day win to the one day champs win from February. They also won the Grass Root Series.

A bit of an eventing round up before the final competition of the season, the National Three Day being held at Taupo this coming weekend.
Northland Horse Trial in March saw Aimee Chave place 5th in the CCN 105, Louise Leonard 1st and Sharlene Mitchell 4th in the CCN 95, and Merran Perrow 2nd in the CCN80.
Kihikihi Horse Trials featured next with Louise Leonard finishing 5th and Sharlene Mitchell 3rd in the CCN 95, and Lauren McKinlay winning the Combined Training Thoroughbred at her first outing with new horse Maggie.
NZPCA Eventing Champs and NHB Horse Trial were combined at Hastings with Sam Jones finishing 2nd in the A1 Champs section and Sharlene Mitchell winning the CCN 95 horse trial. Finally, in May the Waikato Horse Trial was held and saw Louise Leonard win her division of CCN 95, and Sharlene Mitchell finishing 2nd in the other division. Hayley Smith won the CCN 65 and Jessica Sutherland was 2nd in the CCN 1*. These riders have all had fabulous seasons and are now hopeful for good placings at the Three Day. It was the last big dressage show of the season last weekend, the AMDG Amateur and Young rider Championship and a few riders took the opportunity to step up to new levels. First time to Medium (level 4) were Georgia Newton and McCloud winning the Pony Medium Champion, with Elsa Perrow and Private Trooper taking out Reserve Champion. In Elementary (level 3) India Crowhurst and GF Top Secret won all their tests in their first starts at this level winning Pony Elementary Champion. Merran Perrow and Pepe Le Pew were Reserve Champion Novice Championship and Coco Huggins and Cassiopeia were Champion Young Rider Novice. Hayley Smith at her first registered dressage competition finished Reserve Champion Preliminary Pony. Congratulations all riders. In to the winter training now to prepare for the spring season.
