🎉 The countdown is on for the 50th Milford NZ Polo Open! 🐎🏆

We have some amazing memories from the 2026 Open, where The Polo Collective won the 6-goal title in our very first year! It was an unforgettable day, with our members cheering on the team, enjoying the fantastic teppanyaki lunch, great hospitality and soaking up one of the best atmospheres in New Zealand polo.

Congratulations to Auckland Polo Club on celebrating the 50th year of the NZ Polo Open, and to Milford for proudly sponsoring this milestone event. We’re sure the 2027 Open will be one to remember.

We can’t wait to see who’s lining up this year, it’s shaping up to be another brilliant tournament!

After a quiet few months since the end of the New Zealand polo season, it’s fantastic to be back surrounded by the game we love here at Cowdray Park in the UK.

We’ve been lucky enough to watch some incredible high-goal polo over the past few weeks, including the prestigious Queen’s Cup. The speed, skill, horsemanship, and teamwork on display have been nothing short of outstanding.

It was also fantastic to watch the New Zealand team take on the UK at Beaufort. It was great to see George Cronin, who has played for The Polo Collective, wearing the black shirt. The team did us proud, and we loved cheering them on.

The next high-goal tournament is the Gold Cup, and we were fortunate enough to attend the draw. It was an impressive evening and a great opportunity to see the excitement building for one of the most prestigious tournaments in world polo.

While we’re a long way from home, it’s inspiring to be immersed in the heart of the English season and to bring back new ideas, experiences, and enthusiasm for the upcoming season in New Zealand.

Not bad for only his second time ever on a horse!

Martin Hannon joined Jonny Wade for a polo lesson and by the end of it he was trotting around and hitting the ball like a pro.

A big thank you to Indi Bennetto and the team at Auckland Polo Academy for providing the absolute best learner horses, they make learning polo such an incredible experience.

This is what we love about polo…
You don’t have to grow up doing it to give it a go. With the right horses, great coaching, and a fun group around you, anyone can jump in and surprise themselves.

If you’ve ever thought about trying polo, come along next season and be part of it.
It’s social, exciting, and seriously good fun and you never know, you might be the next one hitting balls down the field after your second ride!

Fantastic ladies polo this weekend 🐎☀️🥂

Our playing ponies have now been turned out for winter and what a view they have!! They have given us everything on the field, won a few champion pony prizes and deserve a well-earned break. That also means it’s time for the young ones to have their turn, learning the ropes and seeing how it’s all done.

The season may be winding down, but there are still a few tournaments to come before it all wraps up. This weekend The Walker Memorial at Bombay Hills Polo Club is on, always one of the most fun tournaments of the year with some of the best prizes up for grabs.

Unfortunately The Polo Collective won’t have a team playing this weekend, but we’ll certainly be there enjoying the day, supporting the polo community and watching some great polo.

What an incredible week at the Saville Cup, the polo was outstanding, the atmosphere was buzzing and what a final!!

Teams came from all over the country and what a friendly and fantastic bunch. The spirit and camaraderie on and off the field truly make this event what it is.

And to everyone who travelled far and wide, we hope you all made it home safely. A very special congratulations to Margot for an amazing 30 years of timekeeping.

Again a huge thank you to everyone behind the scenes, the volunteers, organisers, grounds teams, scorers, goal judges and all who keep things running so smoothly. Your hard work makes these weekends possible, and we appreciate every bit of it.

A huge thank you to the amazing team at Hololio Polo Club for hosting the fantastic Hololio Masters tournament last week. We are so lucky to play on such incredible fields, surfaces like that make great polo possible.

The beautiful marquee setup was absolutely stunning and created the perfect atmosphere for players, supporters, and spectators alike.

The Polo Collective weren’t winners this time, but we’re so grateful to be involved and to take part in such a special event.

Thank you for all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to make days like this happen. We truly appreciate it! 🏇✨
