🎾 Opening Day Wrap-Up! 🎾

Well, the rain definitely showed up on Saturday, but so did our club spirit! ☔💙

A smaller but mighty crew braved the weather for our Opening Day celebration, and what a cheerful gathering it was. Drinks, food, good chat, and even a few laughs about the rain.

We won't name names 👀 but a certain someone couldn't resist grabbing a racquet for a few balls on the wet court... you know who you are! That's the enthusiasm that makes this club what it is 🙌

We also shared some exciting updates and a look ahead at what's coming up this season, stay tuned for more details soon.

Rain or shine, our club spirit carries us through, and we can't wait to see even more familiar (and new!) faces at our next gathering. Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a great start to the season 🎾💙

🎾 Saturday Opening Day Update 🎾

Hi everyone!

With Saturday's weather looking unsettled, Whangamata Tennis Club has decided to sit this one out. No dramas, we totally understand!

So instead, we're going ahead with our Opening Day celebration, and it's still open to everyone! Bring your non-member friends and family along too, especially anyone thinking about picking up tennis or joining the club. It's the perfect, pressure-free way to meet the players and see what our club life is all about.

After such a great turnout past year, we're excited to bring the Karaka Golf Classic back for another fantastic day on the course!

This year we're again raising funds for Karaka Tennis Club and Franklin Community Hospice — two great causes close to our community.

Expect a fun-filled day with a BBQ lunch, raffles, and an auction, plus plenty of friendly competition. All skill levels are welcome, so whether you're a regular on the green or just here for a good day out, come join us!

Huge thanks to everyone who came along to our Working Bee today! 🧹🔨

We raced the rain to get stuck into cleaning, fixing, and tidying up, and won! Great turnout from those who could make it, and while there is always more we could tackle with a few extra hands, we made a great progress.

Then it was well earned beers and pizza with the crew. Great chats, great team, and the courts are looking fantastic heading into the new season.

Thanks to everyone who gave up their time today, it's this kind of spirit that makes Karaka Tennis Club such a great place to be. Onwards and upwards! 🍕🍺🥰

This applies to all members, whether you play interclub, social, or casual tennis. We encourage everyone to register and complete payment by the end of August to enjoy full access to the season ahead.

Registering on time really does make a difference. It helps the club plan courts, coaching, and events with confidence, and it directly supports the continued growth of Karaka Tennis Club. We would love for every member to be part of this, so please don't leave it too late, as delays in registration may affect your access once the season gets underway.

🎾 CLUB WORKING BEE – SUNDAY 16 AUGUST 🧹✨

Calling all club members — adults and juniors! It's time to roll up our sleeves and get our facilities ready for the new season.

Join us for a fun morning of cleaning, fixing and tidying up around the club, starting at 10:30am. We'll be there for a few hours, and a light lunch will be provided to refuel our amazing helpers!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 This is a fantastic opportunity for the whole family — kids too! It's a great way for our young members to be part of the club in a different way, helping look after the place they love to play in.

Many hands make light work, and together we can get our club looking fantastic for the season ahead. Let's show our club some love and have a great time doing it!
