Asset finance isn’t always diggers and trucks... sometimes it looks a little prettier. ✨

When our Waikato adviser Kate McGuigan’s client was looking to invest in new cosmetic equipment, she already had a finance pre-approval in place.

The problem? The approved structure didn’t quite fit what the business needed.

Kate looked at other options and structured the finance across two funders, helping the client:
• Secure 100% funding
• Retain more cash in the business
• Purchase the higher-value machine she originally wanted
• Avoid a sizeable upfront deposit

A good reminder that the first option isn’t always your best option.

If you’re investing in new business equipment, talk to your local Finance New Zealand adviser about the options available. 💛🖤

Matt Fogarty has been busy helping another transport business get the right equipment on the road.

This new FUSO for Greg Carley Transport features a custom-built roller deck, specifically designed to make the loading and movement of air cargo more efficient.

A great example of how the right vehicle, body build and funding structure can come together around the way a business actually operates.
Great to see it on the road. 💛🖤

Inland Revenue are taking a much firmer approach to overdue tax debt at the moment — but having IRD arrears doesn’t automatically mean your business is poorly performing.

Often, it’s a timing issue. The important thing is dealing with it before it starts limiting the business elsewhere.

As part of a recent Finance New Zealand Strategic Finance Review, we helped a business:

- fund the repayment of IRD debt as part of a negotiated settlement
- reduce ongoing penalties and interest
- restructure the amount over an affordable amortisation term
- remove a potential barrier to future equipment, capex and growth funding

IRD debt can be dealt with. The earlier it’s addressed, the more options your business is likely to have.

If IRD arrears are starting to get in the way of a wider funding plan, request a strategic review with your local Finance New Zealand adviser. www.financenz.co.nz/team

Our adviser Simon Harding enjoyed representing Finance New Zealand at the NZ Trucking Association event in Christchurch over the weekend. It was a valuable opportunity to connect with transport operators and industry leaders from across New Zealand and hear firsthand about the challenges being felt across the sector.

Assisting transport businesses is a big part of what we do, from owner-drivers through to larger operators. Over the past few years, that has increasingly meant helping businesses manage cashflow pressure, create more headroom in existing lending, and restructure finance that no longer fits where the business is today.

We also really valued the wellbeing focus of the event, and the range of speakers from both within the industry and other fields who brought different perspectives to the conversation.

Thanks to NZ Trucking Association for bringing people together and putting these important conversations on the agenda. 💛🖤

ONE INDUSTRY. CONNECTED VOICES. PRACTICAL SUPPORT.
At the Teletrac Navman Trucking Industry Conference, New Zealand Trucking Association CEO David Boyce spoke about the importance of collaboration and how the Association works alongside the Transport Well Charitable Trust.
His message was clear, a stronger industry doesn’t mean we all need to become one voice.
Transport and the wider supply chain are diverse. Different associations, industry groups, businesses and organisations bring different expertise, experiences and perspectives.
Our strength comes from being one industry with connected voices.
It means working together where we have common ground, sharing knowledge and resources, reducing duplication and supporting each other to achieve better outcomes.
The New Zealand Trucking Association provides advocacy, representation and practical support for its members, while the Transport Well Charitable Trust works across the wider industry, delivering initiatives focused on safety, wellbeing, workforce development and community engagement.
Collaboration makes us stronger.
One Industry. Connected Voices. Practical Support.

We’ve put together a quick overview of what Information Privacy Principle 3A (IPP3A) means for you.
