⨠MÄnawatia a Matariki â¨
As the Matariki stars rise, weâre invited into a new season of remembering, reflection, and renewal.
Winter reminds us that not all growth is visible. Beneath the surface, life is quietly gathering itself, preparing for what comes next.
At HUM, we believe our practice follows this same rhythm. Yoga isnât about becoming someone new. Itâs about returningâagain and againâto the breath, to presence, and to the quiet wisdom thatâs always been within.
As a studio in Aotearoa, weâre honoured to acknowledge Matariki and the richness of te ao MÄori. We offer our gratitude to tangata whenua and the deep relationship with the whenua, the stars, and the cycles of nature that Matariki celebrates.
To honour this beautiful season, weâre offering 20% off today only on:
⨠5 & 10 Class Packs

Release ⢠Move ⢠Restore
There are so many ways we hold tension. Long hours at a desk, driving, stress, caring for others, or simply moving through a busy life can all leave the neck, shoulders and upper back asking for a little more care.
Join Fiona for a nourishing afternoon designed to help you soften, unwind and reconnect with ease.
Release â self-myofascial release using therapy balls to ease tight muscles, improve circulation and create space in the fascia.
Move â mindful, functional movement to support mobility, posture and body awareness, helping your body integrate the benefits of the release work.
Restore â a deeply grounding Yin Yoga practice to calm the nervous system and leave you feeling replenished from the inside out.
You may leave with:
⢠Less tension through the neck, shoulders and upper back
⢠Greater mobility and freedom of movement
⢠Improved posture and body awareness
⢠A calmer nervous system
⢠A renewed sense of ease and wellbeing
Sunday 19 July
2.00â4.30pm
This workshop is suitable for everyoneâno previous yoga or myofascial release experience is needed.

⨠An Evening of Breath, Song & Healing â¨
Join us for a deeply nourishing 2-hour journey of Breathwork, Waiata, Karakia, and a Healing Tea Ceremony.
This transformative experience is designed to soften the edges, create space within the body, and reconnect you with yourself through the power of the breath. As we breathe, the body begins to reorganise and recalibrate, opening the doorway to feel more deeply, release what no longer serves, and return to the wisdom of the heart.
Guiding this journey are Taane and Jason Mobberly, who bring years of experience in breathwork, movement, healing, and embodiment.
Taane is a RongoÄ MÄori healer, dancer, choreographer, yoga, HIIT, Pilates Pulse and breathwork teacher, who shares his work at Aro-Ha Retreat in Glenorchy. With over 40 years of movement experience and whakapapa to NgÄti Kahungunu and NgÄti Koroki-Kahukura, Taane weaves MÄtauranga MÄori, ancient wisdom, and his own original waiata into a heartfelt and deeply moving practice.
Jason Mobberly has spent the past four years immersed in breathwork and embodiment as a pathway of personal transformation. His grounded, authentic approach empowers others to reconnect with themselves and experience life with greater presence, intention, and wholeheartedness.
Trust the breath. Open the heart. Feel the bodyâs response.

Have you been practising yoga and wondering what lies beneath the asana?
Beyond the fleeting moments of philosophy woven through a 60-minute class... beyond the shapes, the breath, and the movement... can you sense a deeper transmission calling?
A longing to dive into the waters of wisdom teachings, devotion, ritual, and embodied practice?
A desire to explore a tradition that is alive â not confined to the mat, but woven into the fabric of daily life.
A path that invites you to recognise the sacred within yourself, to meet the fullness of your experience, and to uncover the sweetness that has always been there.
If there is a whisper inside that says yes... or perhaps a full-bodied YES... this is your invitation.
Join Kirsty and Lisa for a 50-hour immersion into the teachings and practices of Non-Dual Ta**ra.
Together we will explore philosophy, meditation, mantra, subtle body practices, ritual, devotion, and the profound recognition that awakening is not somewhere else â it is here, in the alchemy of being fully alive.
We canât wait to meet you there.

The Winter Solstice marks a turning point in the cycle of the year, the longest night, and the moment when the light begins its gradual return.
In ta***ic philosophy, life is often understood as a continual rhythm of expansion and contraction. Not everything is meant to be growing, building, or moving forward all the time. There are seasons for reaching outward, and seasons for drawing inward.
The solstice can be a gentle reminder that both are part of the same cycle.
As the year slows and the days grow shorter, there may be an opportunity to notice what is naturally coming to rest, and what is quietly beginning to emerge.
A few reflections for the season:
What feels complete, or ready to be let go of?
Where might I benefit from allowing more space, rest, or stillness?
What is beginning to take shape beneath the surface, even if itâs not fully clear yet?
Wishing you a nourishing Solstice and a little space to honour your own rhythm.

Cacao, Yin & Sound with Maryam
As winter settles in, nature invites us to slow down.
To soften.
To listen.
To honour the quieter rhythms beneath the busyness of everyday life.
Join Maryam for a deeply restorative evening designed to nourish body, mind, and spirit. Weâll begin with a warm cup of heart-opening cacao before settling into gentle breathwork and a grounding yin yoga practice.
As the body unwinds through long-held postures and mindful stillness, youâll be invited to release tension, reconnect with yourself, and embrace the restorative energy of the season.
The evening will conclude with an immersive sound journey featuring crystal bowls, chimes, gongs, and drums, guiding you into a state of deep rest and integration.
A beautiful opportunity to pause, replenish, and receive.

On Saturday 20 June, Lisa, Sandey, Rodolfo and Rongo will guide our community through 108 Sun Salutations, a moving meditation woven together with breath, intention, and collective care.
In many traditions, 108 is a sacred number, symbolising wholeness, reflection, and connection. As we move through each round, we honour the rhythms of being human; the moments that feel light and effortless, and the moments that ask for resilience, courage, and support.
This special practice is a Koha fundraiser for Life Matters, supporting su***de prevention and mental health awareness. Every contribution helps fund life-affirming resources and programmes within our wider community.
You are welcome exactly as you are.
Complete all 108. Complete some. Rest when you need to. Sit, breathe, witness, and be held by the collective energy of the room.
This is not a practice of endurance.
It is a practice of connection.

SHAKE THE DUST â¨
This Friday at HUM Yoga with Allie Kennedy
A movement practice to awaken the body, shake loose stagnant energy, and reconnect to the pulse of aliveness within.
Expect breath, rhythm, sweat, release, grounding, freedom, and space to move beyond the thinking mind and into something more instinctive, embodied and real.
Part somatic movement, part ritual, part catharsis, Shake the Dust invites us to soften the armour, move whatâs been stuck, and remember the body as a living expression of energy, presence and prayer.
No performance.
No need to âget it right.â
Just movement, music, breath and the permission to fully arrive.
Come as you are.
Leave feeling clearer, lighter, more connected.

At Hum, we honour the many expressions of mothering.
The carers, nurturers, protectors, space holders and gentle guides who move through the world offering presence, care and unconditional love. The essence of mothering lives far beyond a title, it lives in the everyday acts of tenderness, sacrifice, patience and devotion that help others feel safe, seen and supported.
Today, we also hold space for those who long to be mothers, those grieving loss, those navigating distance or complexity, and anyone for whom this day carries tenderness.
And we honour our great Mother Earth our first teacher. Not a resource to be consumed, but a living being who nourishes, sustains and cares for us all. May we remember to move in reciprocity with her, with ourselves, and with each other.
To celebrate the spirit of nurturing and care in all its forms, today only weâre offering 20% off all 10 class packs using the code MOTHER
Thank you for being part of the Hum community.
With love,
The Hum Team xx
