Ambury Park turned it on for the Athletics Auckland Teams Cross Country Champs on Saturday! 🌤️🏃♀️🏃♂️ The new course was tough but seriously beautiful.
We came home with FOUR golds and a bronze. Unreal effort from every athlete who showed up. 🙌

Bays Athletics is bursting with pride as three of our athletes have been selected to represent their countries at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland one of the biggest sporting events in the world, bringing together the best athletes from across 74 Commonwealth nations and territories.

Selected to represent New Zealand in the Men's Hammer Throw.
🇳🇿 Olivia McTaggart
Selected to represent New Zealand in the Women's Pole Vault.
🇼🇸 Symone Latafale Millar Tafunai
Selected to represent Samoa in Sprints.
To have three Bays athletes selected for the Commonwealth Games is an extraordinary accomplishment and a reflection of the dedication, sacrifice, perseverance, and excellence shown by these athletes and their support teams.
Representing your country at a Commonwealth Games is a dream for many athletes. To see Anthony, Olivia, and Symone earn the opportunity to wear their national colours on one of the world's biggest sporting stages is something our entire Bays Athletics whānau is incredibly proud of.
Congratulations on this remarkable achievement. We can't wait to watch you compete in Glasgow and inspire the next generation of Bays athletes.

🟢We're on the countdown to race 3 of the Athletics Auckland Grand Prix Series held at Long Bay, and hosted by us! The flat and fast course is a beach-lovers fave, with the biggest cold plunge pool (aka the ocean) for the brave 🥶🌊
Individual entries close next Wed June 17. There's even a 2km or 4km fun run - register on the day. See you there!

🌟 Oceania International Athletics Championships – Darwin 2026 🌟
The Oceania International Athletics Championships recently took place in Darwin, Australia, and North Harbour Bays Athletics is incredibly proud of the athletes who earned selection and represented both our club, New Zealand, Samoa and Niue on the international stage.

These results are a testament to the dedication, hard work, and commitment shown by our athletes and coaches throughout the season.

This week we’ll actually hang in our own neighbourhood with a run from Takapuna Beach cafe.
7:30am start for those wanting to run for 2hrs
8am start for anyone wanting to do a little shorter (70-90mins)

Bays 🤝 Night Ninja’s Long Run v2
Just like last time there are a few options to suit:
•Full Waiwera Loop - 30km
Start 7:00am
•Partial Waiwera Loop - 19km
Start 7:00am with the 30km group, then bus back to the start from the 19km mark.
•Estuary Laps - 8-16km
Start 8:00am. Perfect if you’d like a later start, 1-2 laps of the estuary.
We’ll all finish at Driftwood Cafe ☕️
