Had a good chat with Laura from One News today about recent research on head trauma from scooter accidents. Very little of it made it to the final TV piece (as usual). Notable points on the cutting room floor were:
- Setting speed limits for pavement/cycle lane/road use is more effective than controlling performance
- Good servicing to keep your ride safe will help you avoid accidents in the first place
- Private owners are far more skilled riders and far more safety aware than rental users, who comprise the majority of the accident stats
- Scooter rider training for teens should be carried out like bike training is to teach safety and skills
- As a business we push safety hard with helmet deals with purchases and helmets provided for all test rides
Its an important conversation to have with your young person (and some older ones!). Get that lid on!

Had to share this customer JudgeMe review on the InMotion RS Jet. It echoes my thoughts exactly! (This model is currently exclusive to Electric Scooter Shop, where most great scooters start out, but I'm sure we will eventually get copied and it will pop up elsewhere) Right now though, it's ours! All ours!! (and we LOVE it)

"I feel like Batman on this stealth looking batmobile. Gorgeous scooter i must say. I'm seriously impressed with the performance as it still gives you almost maximum power even at 30% battery. I got about 60km selecting between Drive and Sport modes with about 25% battery left in the tank. I tried X-mode once and I'm sure I looked like a flag blowing on a flagpole trying to hold on to the bars. It's power is insane. Suspension is absolutely beautiful as you can adjust the deck height to your hearts desire. I'm 1.8m and the bar height is perfect for me. Do yourself a favor and grab one of these from this awesome scooter shop. I hope this scooter lasts forever."
