What a race! Today had everything and we were very proud to finish the way we did. Left everything out on the water (and in some cases in it during the earlier capsize) and finished second 🥳

After an unfortunate clash in the first heat which caused our boat to capsize, we came back strong in our second chance race against Supporter Crews.

We race again in the last final of the day...lessshgo 💪

A sea of blue in Aix-les-Bains, our uniforms sure do stand out in a sea of pink. We were excited to showcase our uniform for the Parade of Nations and Opening Ceremony event. On arrival we walked the red carpet and entered the venue and had time to chill out before Jules and Donna returned from the Team Manager meeting and Congress. We walked with pride alongside our NZ BC paddling sisters for the Parade of Nations led by Kelly from Boobops holding the NZ flag. There was singing and dancing and a small icecream shop halfway along the route was a very welcome sight with the temperature getting up to 32°. It was the hottest day yet! After dinner and dancing we headed home for a rest day on Friday as racing has been canceled due to bad weather forecast... bring on the racing on Saturday!

We have arrived! The team is all settled in, and we had our first site visit and training at the race course yesterday. Stunning site and the perfect temperature for a post training dip in the lake.

Parade of Nations and Welcoming Ceremony up next tomorrow 😍

On Sunday we had a very special karakia ceremony to bless our new uniforms ahead of our trip to France.

It was wonderful to have ADBA kaumātua, Ricky Greaves, join Wāhine Toa for our training session on the water and bless our uniforms, paddles and our upcoming journey afterwards.

Rebecca & Katherine led us with waiata, Purea Nei, in response.

Each piece that carries our design, holds our story. We will wear it proudly.

It was also an opportunity to thank those who have supported us, Caroline, Alaina, Mack, Linda.

With only a couple of training sessions left, not long to go now!
